Lindsay Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, reacted to her ex-husband Patrick Clancy’s 60 Minutes interview, in which he spoke out about his ex-wife killing their three kids in January 2023.

“That’s pretty much what we’ve all heard all along,” Reddington told reporters on Monday, September 21, according to NBC Boston. “I think he’s been pretty consistent.”

During his first televised interview after the case was declared a mistrial, Patrick said that he forgave Lindsay, 36, for killing their kids: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. He also discussed his grieving process and admitted he battled suicidal thoughts after his kids were killed.

At one point in the interview, Patrick revealed the wish he made shortly after Lindsay strangled their kids.

“So, I didn’t have all the details of Callan’s condition,” Patrick said of the former couple’s youngest child, who was the last of their children to survive. “I just knew that they got a heartbeat back. So I remember … that night, I … really thought there was a chance that Callan would live. And I remember just thinking, ‘Just gimme one. Just gimme one kid, and I would raise him as best I could, and I would give him the best life I possibly could. I’d tell him about his brother and sister.’”

He added that he was “holdin’ out hope for that.”

“And then when I got to the hospital, I saw the doctor,” he recalled. “I saw the look on her face, and … I knew that it … it wasn’t gonna be … a good prognosis.”

Patrick also shared an update about his life today, including details about his private relationship with wife Rachel Danis and their plans to start a family together.

Lindsay’s case ended in a mistrial on September 4 after the jury was unable to come to a unanimous verdict. Her defense team never denied that she killed her kids, but they argued throughout the trial that she should not be held criminally responsible because she was battling postpartum psychosis. Meanwhile, the prosecutor argued that Lindsay was aware of what she was doing when she killed her children.

Following the trial’s outcome, the defense filed a new motion to dismiss the murder charges against Lindsay on September 21. In the filing, Reddington and Martin Weinber said that Judge William Sullivan was required to do more to investigate the jurors’ claims that the holdout juror, Michael Péguy Desronvil, had not applied the law as instructed.

Following the mistrial, several of the jurors claimed that Desronvil admitted he saw reasonable doubt in the trial but still found her guilty. However, Desronvil has denied claims he ever questioned whether Lindsay was guilty.

The attorneys argued that a retrial would violate Lindsay’s double jeopardy rights because the claims shared with Sullivan “required a judicial inquiry sufficient to ascertain whether her right to an impartial jury was being violated,” per NBC Boston.

“I’m hoping that Judge Sullivan allows the termination of the case,” Reddington told reporters following the filing. “It’s just a case that needs to be done.”
