Progressive darling Jack Schlossberg has admitted he can’t get President Trump out of his head — while even praising his “genius.”

John F. Kennedy’s grandson surprisingly gushed about his admiration for the commander-in-chief, citing him as an inspiration for his own attempts to get attention while running for New York’s 12th Congressional District seat vacated by longtime Rep. Jerrold Nadler.

“I don’t admire President Trump for anything, but I deeply, deeply respect and recognize his genius in the way that he programs all of what we talk about every day,” Schlossberg told CBS New York’s Marcia Kramer when asked to compare his own social media savvy to that of the president’s.

“He programs our minds,” he added, “He says things, and we end up repeating them all day long. He’s living in all of our heads right now.”

Schlossberg, 33, went so far as to suggest the Democrats should take a page out of the president’s book when it comes to influencing the national conversation and shaping narratives.

“We should use our humor, our intellect. We should not be afraid to take risks,” he said.

It is the one way to wield power now, and we don’t really have an option not to compete out there.”

He said his party’s only weapon to counter Trump’s preternatural ability to shape discourse was for Democrats to be “authentic to who you are and letting people into your world.”

“The other candidates I’m running against, they want you to look away. I want you to look at everything that I’m doing because I’m proud of it and thinking about it, and I’m working 24/7,” he assured.

Schlossberg, 33, son of former US ambassador Caroline Kennedy, is hoping to win NY’s 12th Congressional District seat vacated by Nadler, who announced his plans to retire last September.

His run for office has been plagued by accusations that it’s being poorly managed, including in a blistering New York Times profile in which campaign sources raised concerns about his fitness for office.

Among the concerns raised about Schlossberg’s “dollar store” run for office is that the nepo baby ditched key meetings to catch up on beauty sleep, regularly behaved erratically and bailed on interviews with donors and media hours into his November campaign launch.
