Teen ragers are wrecking vacant San Diego homes, leaving owners in horror at their damaged state.

Several houses across the county since last August have been burglarized and filled with reckless youths ready to go haywire, NBC San Diego revealed.

The homeowners have seen thousands of dollars worth of damage, including from exploding fireworks, ripped-out smoke detectors and human-sized holes.

One realtor spoke about her stunned reaction to a party she had no knowledge of until the next morning.

“This wasn’t just any party,” Vanessa Munoz said. “They actually lit off fireworks… there were burn marks on the walls and a human-sized hole in the wall. Like someone got thrown into the wall … the sliding glass door was completely shattered.”

“It could have been a lot worse,” Munoz said. “Nobody got hurt. They didn’t burn down the home.”

That party caused $7,000 in damage, but another rager struck a homeowner’s pockets — and heart — much deeper.

Retired Navy Lt. Troy Esaki said a teen party caused him a quarter-million dollars in repairs and a lot of emotions.

“We’re really heartbroken,” Esaki said. “It’s been a mixture of emotions, frustration and anguish. A lot of it has been heartache.”

San Diego police said they are aware of 15 to 20 illegal vacant house fiestas across the county in the past year.

Many of the ragers are organized using social media, and party locations aren’t usually revealed until minutes before they start. Flyers are posted to excite young partygoers.

“They’re saying, ‘Hey, party at this house, $10 cover at the door,’ and so they’re making money,” San Diego Police Lt. Cesar Jimenez told NBC San Diego. “Once they get in to access the house, they charge people at the door. They’ll have a security person there. They’ll have a DJ or something like that.”

Police believe clever teens stake out vacant houses on Redfin and open houses before they choose which house to destroy.

“Even though they’re young, they’re sophisticated,” Jimenez told NBC San Diego. “They’re going to open houses. They’re checking out Redfin and seeing what houses are empty — like a burglar would stake out a house.”

But police have struggled to make arrests because it is difficult to prove who was in on the party.

“If we can identify the person who’s throwing the party, a lot of times that’s very difficult,” Jimenez told us. “Because most people are going to say, ‘Well, I didn’t know. I thought the person throwing the party owned the home.’ And so that’s going to be part of our burden of proof.”

Nevertheless, police have identified who is behind a number of the parties but are still working to build cases to send to prosecutors, according to NBC San Diego. At least one case involves a juvenile.

Realtors in charge of selling the wrecked homes believe police should be harsher on the teens, even if they aren’t involved in organizing the parties.

“Like the deputy said: They can’t really do anything,” realtor Karla Vidrio said. “They can’t even arrest them because they don’t know who started it. But in my mind, I’m like, ‘Well, it doesn’t matter, right?’ I mean, if you’re here and you know that you’re in here illegally, shouldn’t you still be prosecuted?”
