Game, set, match made in heaven? Tennis star Emma Raducanu has sparked romance rumors with fellow tennis player Benjamin Heynold.
Days after Raducanu was knocked out of the U.S. Open following her defeat by Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina in August 2025, the athlete took to Instagram to share a summer photo dump. One of the snaps caught fans’ attention, as it featured Raducanu sitting in a restaurant and smiling beside Heynold.
“Is that the bf in slide 2? 👀🤣,” one fan asked.
However, Raducanu shut down the rumor by “liking” a comment that read, “That dude is not her boyfriend. He has known her the[y] were like 6. It’s been said many times he’s a childhood school friend,” according to SportsTalk.

Who Is Benjamin Heynold?
Heynold is a graduate of the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, according to his LinkedIn. He began working as an analyst at The Raine Group in July 2025.
Heynold is also a tennis player who reportedly played for Team GB alongside Raducanu in their youth.
Benjamin Heynold Has Supported Emma Raducanu at Tennis Matches
Prior to Raducanu’s Instagram post, Heynold was spotted cheering his friend on as she defeated Marketa Vondrousova at Wimbledon in July 2025, which added fuel to the relationship speculation. However, Raducanu seemingly reiterated their status as friends in a post-match interview, per MyLondon.
“A lot of them live in America,” she said when asked how she knew the pals who had come to support her. “They’re friends from secondary school, childhood. One of them [Ben] I’ve known since I was 6 years old. Then another one since I was 14. I think it adds more significance because they never really get to come and watch me. We made it an annual thing. They can come to Wimbledon. It aligns with everyone’s calendar.”
She gushed, “It’s so rad. I have all of them here in one place. They’ve been my rock through everything.”
Emma Raducanu Previously Sparked Rumors With Carlos Alcaraz
Raducanu sparked dating rumors with Spanish tennis player Alcaraz when news broke that they would be playing mixed doubles together in the U.S. Open. However, Raducanu said they’re “just good friends.”
“He asked me earlier on in the year and I was very surprised and honored and obviously excited,” she told the BBC of their team-up in June 2025. “I just went through the formality of asking my coach. But of course I was going to say yes.”
Meanwhile, Alcaraz told HypeBeast, “She plays great. She’s struggling a little bit lately, but I’m pretty sure that she’s gonna get there. I have a lot of confidence in her … Her game is pretty high. I trust that she’s gonna be on the top very soon.”
