The Devil Wears Prada 2 has taken over New York City — but there are tons of questions about which original stars are returning for the sequel.

Rumors started swirling in 2024 that a follow-up to 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada was in the works. However, things weren’t fully confirmed until May 2025 when production on the second film officially kicked off. (The movie is set to hit theaters in May 2026.)

The first movie is based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel, The Devil Wears Prada, while the sequel is set to follow a similar story to 2013’s Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.

Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are returning as Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs, respectively, but tons of new stars have also joined the ranks at Runway Magazine. In the words of Stanley Tucci’s Nigel, gird your loins for a star-studded cast.

Kenneth Branagh has been cast as Miranda’s new husband while it was announced that Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B. J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Helen J. Shen, Conrad Ricamora, Caleb Hearon, Rachel Bloom and Patrick Brammall would also appear in the movie. However, character details have been kept under wraps.

Keep scrolling to see which original stars will appear in the highly anticipated sequel:

Meryl Streep

Photos of Streep dressed in her Miranda Priestly costume while filming in New York City were shared online in July 2025, confirming that she is back and better than ever.

Anne Hathaway

Hathaway has also been spotted on set, confirming her involvement in the second film. She also gave a first look at “Andy Sachs 2025” in a July 2025 Instagram post.

Emily Blunt

The actress will, of course, be reprising her role as Emily Charlton.

Stanley Tucci

With Streep’s Miranda headed back to the big screen, her right-hand man Nigel will also be returning.

Simon Baker

Baker played the role of journalist Christian Thompson, but his involvement in the sequel is unclear.

Adrian Grenier

The Entourage alum will not be reprising his role as Andy’s ex Nate, according to a June 2025 Entertainment Weekly report.

Tracie Thoms

The actress is set to return as Andy’s friend Lily.

Tibor Feldman

Feldman’s Irv Ravitz — the chairman of Elias-Clarke — will also be back to stir up some drama.

Rich Sommer

Sommer appeared in the first movie as Andy’s friend Doug, but it’s unclear whether his character will be back.

Daniel Sunjata

The actor appeared as fashion designer James Holt, but his appearance in the sequel has yet to be confirmed.
