An American food chain is set to embark on its goal of Australian domination as it reveals the location of its next store.

Wendy’s, known for its square burger patties, opened its first Australian restaurant in Surfers Paradise in January.

The opening was met with huge queues as people were eager to try the staple of American fast food.

The American chain is not to be confused with an Australian store with the same name, known for its ice cream and hot dogs, and still operates.

Now, the brand has announced that it is set to open its flagship “Haus of Wendy” store in Brisbane in October.

The brand promises that not only will it be the Wendy’s that Australians know and love, but also feature “uniquely themed rooms that bring Wendy’s famous personality to life.”

Wendy’s ANZ chief marketing officer, Corina Black, said the Brisbane flagship is set to mark the start of the next decade. The brand plans to open 200 stores nationwide during that time.

Flynn Group Asia Pacific president Richard Wallis said: “This flagship is more than a restaurant, it’s a statement of intent.

“Brisbane is one of Australia’s most dynamic cities, and the perfect stage to show how Wendy’s stands apart, with quality food, an immersive experience, and a brand that’s impossible to ignore.”

Australians lost their minds when the burger chain landed on the Gold Coast.

Footage shared on social media showed huge queues outside the Gold Coast venue. Some Aussies got in line early to be able to get their hands on the burger — hours before the venue even opened.

A ribbon was cut, and customers quickly filtered through. Queues stretched out the door and onto the street.

Reviews are already rolling in for the brand. Gold Coast-based content creator Claudia Macdonald was one of the first to try it at an opening event.

She called it “mouth-watering” and asked why the chicken tenders were “so good.”

Macdonald also sampled the homestyle chicken tender burger, the spicy chicken tender, and the classic beef burger and shared her thoughts.

The spicy chicken appeared to live up to its name, with Ms Macdonald calling it the “perfect burger” if you like a bit of kick. Then, she tried the iconic Frosty. She used a spoon to taste both the vanilla and the chocolate flavours.

“Oh my,” she declared after tasting it.

“It’s like ice cream and thick shake mixed together.”

Food reviewer Mariana Bouzeid was also one of the first to get her hands on the burgers. She tried the Baconmator and a chicken tender burger.

After trying the Baconmator, she declared it was “yum.”

“The bacon, the double patty, the cheese, the soft bun? Wow, I rate this,” she said.

Bouzeid was asked how the Aussie newcomer compared to McDonald’s and declared it was “100 per cent better.”
