Travis Kelce let his emotions flow at the altar when he married Taylor Swift, according to somebody lucky enough to score an invite.

“Their vows were long,” Monday Night Football broadcaster Joe Buck said Saturday, July 25, on the “Starkville” podcast. “They were really well-written. They were funny. They were sweet. They were emotional.”

Buck, 57, revealed the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, appeared overjoyed the moment he saw his bride-to-be, 36, make her entrance on their big day. “Travis was a puddle watching his nieces come down the little ramp that they built. When [Swift] walked out, he was a puddle.”

Buck, 57, noted that he and his fellow wedding guests were “still supposed to be in the NDA mode,” but that didn’t stop him from sharing some other highlights from the momentous occasion.

“It felt like they were really getting married,” he said. “It wasn’t just a ceremonial thing. … Meaning that they hadn’t been married before. I think when they took everybody’s phone and everybody could relax and I’m standing next to Beck, which is an artist I love — it’s [Joe’s wife] Michelle [Beisner-Buck], Beck [and] whoever he was with watching Paul McCartney sing ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand’ for the first time publicly since 1964? It was a pinch-yourself kind of night.”

Joe said the “star quality” inside New York City’s Madison Square Garden was “surreal.”

“It was a thousand people, legitimately,” he explained. “I kept walking around all night waiting for somebody to tap me on the shoulder and be like, ‘OK, I think you guys have had about enough. It’s time for you to go. You really weren’t on the real list of people that we wanted here.’”

Joe recalled a 20-minute conversation with Tom Cruise, which he called “better than any part of the entire night to me, other than watching them get married,” and being surrounded by A-listers during the wedding ceremony itself.

“I’m sitting there in front of Brad Pitt, next to Scarlett Johansson, behind Hugh Grant and two rows behind Paul McCartney and Tom Hanks,” he said. “I’m like, ‘What in the hell am I doing here?’ They have got to be looking at me like, ‘Who is that?’ But whatever, we had a good time. My wife and I enjoyed every second of it.”

Joe noted that he and his family have known Swift for years, explaining he first crossed paths with her when she was “a rising star.”

“I can tell you, my hand to God, she’s been the same person,” the broadcaster said. “Could not be nicer, could not be more warm. She has no air about her like, ‘I’m a star and you’re not.’”

Joe added, “I couldn’t be more impressed with her. And Travis is a great guy.”
