Tracker‘s Fiona Rene revealed if she’s been in contact with her former costars after the hit CBS series went through numerous cast exits.

“I talked to Robin [Weigert] the other day. She came over to my house. We had a cup of tea. Abby [McEnany] is in Chicago. I texted her and she texted me on my birthday,” Rene, who plays Reenie, exclusively told Us Weekly at CBS Fest on Wednesday, April 15. “Eric has been playing Overcooked with me online.”

Rene also weighed in on being the last OG — outside of lead Justin Hartley — on the show.

“I’m just so blessed and so grateful to be a part of a group that actually does an awesome job at what they do,” she gushed. “And I’m so blessed with new costars. The word OG is pretty cool.”

Her costar Chris Lee, who has recently been promoted to series regular, gave Rene a shout-out, adding, “We all watched you first and then we learned. … Honestly, it’s been more of an emotional adjustment than a work adjustment. The work could be pretty hard before that anyway. It’s been just awesome to be able to sit in Vancouver and be with the cast and continue the journey.”

Since Tracker premiered on CBS in 2024, the show has dealt with its fair share of departures. The procedural faces changes when Weigert exited the show after being a series regular in the first season. It was later confirmed that McEnany and Graise would be leaving the show as well.

Executive producer Elwood Reid previously teased more onscreen changes in the show’s future.

“I do think it’s evolving. If I can’t evolve those characters — Randy or Reenie or Bobby — they’re not just people that just pick up the phone and go, ‘OK, here is the answer.’ That’s when the show is phoning it in,” he explained to Us in May 2025. “The challenge is when you got to learn about them, which I thought was interesting. That’s the challenge of the show is not having it fall into a formula.”

Reid noted that they didn’t want Tracker to “fall into complacency.”

“The only rule I really have of the show is each week Colter is going to come to a new place and there’s going to be a new case. How he gets those answers and what he uses on the team, that’s all something that’s up for grabs,” Reid teased. “Meeting these [local] weird characters is something we’re going to try to do more of as the season goes on. Just Colter coming in and interacting with other characters. That’s fun to see Justin flex those muscles with really good guest cast members.”

While speaking to Us on Wednesday, Lee and Rene praised Hartley for setting an example for them on set as a costar and executive producer.

“I really do believe he’s the best leader I’ve ever worked with. He just commands a great and professional set and a great low maintenance and fun set. I definitely learned work ethic from him,” Lee shared. “The dude works so hard, he knows everything and he watches on the day. He’s so involved. It’s his show.”

He added: “I’ve just been a real student — and that’s been super, super fun. Then when we do scenes together — and episodes together — it’s like Rush Hour. Big bro and little bro. It’s really fun so I love working with Justin.”

Rene, meanwhile, complimented Hartley’s “work ethic.”

“He lives and breathes Tracker. We were joking around the other day. He was like, ‘I used to have a life. I used to have friends,’” she added. “What I’ve learned specifically is his attention to detail while we’re shooting. Not only is he at home reviewing the scenes and making sure that he feels good about everything and coming to set and doing his role, but he comes in as his executive producer and goes through and says, ‘Wow, this moment didn’t feel right on your seat. Let me talk to you about this. Let me feel this out.’ He’s very, very generous.”

Tracker airs on CBS Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
