Move over lettuce. Nut butter is the newest food to terrorize grocery shoppers.

The Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter — exclusively sold at Walmart — has been recalled due to a contamination risk. Botticelli Foods, the company that makes the item, issued the recall on August 3 after a potential salmonella contamination, according to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) report.

The recall was first initiated on July 17 after Walmart learned that the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services had tested three jars of the product at a store and identified the presence of salmonella. The testing was part of a routine inspection.

Think you might have been affected? Here are the details:

The Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter was sold in 6.7-ounce glass jars with the UPC code 194346207961. The lot code is LB028ACP04 with an expiration date of January 28, 2027, according to the FDA.

The butter was manufactured by Gustibus Alimentari Srl of Assoro, Italy, and imported by Botticelli. It is then distributed exclusively by Walmart, according to the recall.

No other nut butters were impacted, according to the recall.

If you have the Pistachio Nut Butter with those codes, the FDA is urging you to return it immediately for a full refund.

Shoppers can also call Botticelli Foods, which is located in Melville, N.Y., with questions at 631-543-7000, extension 203. Those potentially affected can also email the company at [email protected].

As of Monday, no illnesses have been reported in relation to this specific recall, according to the report. The Post has reached out to Walmart for any further updates.

The item was distributed to Walmart stores across 19 states:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Idaho
  • Kansas
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • Nevada
  • New Mexico
  • Oregon
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Washington
  • Wyoming

Salmonella symptoms may include fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. According to the FDA, salmonella may be able to enter the bloodstream and produce more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis — but only in rare circumstances.

The most common symptoms of salmonella are diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Symptoms may start as soon as six hours or as late as six days from initial contact. Healthy people can typically recover within four to seven days with no treatment, while other, more vulnerable groups could require medical attention or even hospitalization.

Contact your health care professional if you experience the following:

  • Diarrhea and a fever higher than 102 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Diarrhea for more than three days that is not improving
  • Bloody diarrhea
  • So much vomiting that you cannot keep liquids down
  • Signs of dehydration, such as not urinating much, dry mouth and throat, and feeling dizzy when standing up
