Jax Taylor found a way to stay in contact with Brittany Cartwright during his 30-day inpatient stay in a mental health facility.

During the Tuesday, May 6, episode of The Valley, viewers discovered that Jax, 45, was sending several text messages to his estranged wife while he was seeking professional help.

“He’s already starting today,” Brittany, 36, told costars Janet Caperna and Michelle Saniei of her estranged husband’ messages while on the way to Santa Barbara, California, for a cast trip. “I found out he’s in therapy almost seven hours a day so they take his phone while he’s in therapy, and he gets 15-minute breaks in between so he’s doing therapy, getting his phone, rage texting me, going back to therapy.”

So what exactly was Jax texting the mother of his 4-year-old son, Cruz? According to Brittany, a whole range of topics.

“I’m not checking in on him enough. I’m not being a good wife. Why haven’t I sent him care packages yet? Why haven’t I tried to come visit him yet?” Brittany said in a confessional interview of the texts. “It’s been three days. He needs to take this seriously because this is going to make or break it for the rest of his life. If he doesn’t get help now, then he’s just going to keep spiraling, and that scares me.”

In July 2024, Jax voluntarily decided to enter an inpatient treatment facility for 30 days. Cameras rolled as Jason Caperna drove his costar and friend to the center.

“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,” Jax’s rep told Us in a statement at the time. “He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”

During Tuesday’s episode, Bravo showed a variety of texts Jax allegedly sent Brittany during his stay at the treatment facility.

“You took my son from me,” one text read. “You took my job away from me. I’ve worked so hard for two years for this and you took it from me.”

Another message read, “I am in a mental health clinic. You’re not answering my calls.”

At one point, Brittany was moved to tears after seemingly becoming overwhelmed by the messages.

“I just need to block his number or something,” Brittany said after cameras discovered she labels Jax as “worst husband ever” in her phone. “He’s just saying things to hurt me.”

While much of the cast offered support to Brittany, Janet, 39, didn’t seem too surprised by her costar’s actions.

As she said, “Only Jax would rage text from rehab.”

The Valley airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Stream old episodes anytime on Peacock.
