Sydney Sweeney has teamed up with American Eagle again for a sexy summer campaign following her previously controversial ad with the company.

Sweeney, 28, posed for the brand’s “Syd for Short: American Eagle Jean Shorts” ad, which launched on Wednesday, April 15. In the campaign, the Euphoria actress looked her best in a pair of blue denim cutoffs, which she teamed with a white blouse that fell off her shoulder.

In another shot, Sweeney rocked a pair of light-wash shorts complete with a frayed hem. She kept her look simple with a plain white tee. Sweeney beamed for the camera and showed off her glowy skin and soft makeup, which included pink lips, long lashes and a touch of highlighter. She made her look even more beachy with her blonde bob styled in loose waves.

Elsewhere in the ad, Sweeney showed a glimpse of skin while sizzling in a blue crochet top and sitting on a sandy set.

She also starred in a campaign video, where she wore a denim crop top tied in a knot at her waist and long shorts.

“What brand am I wearing?” Sweeney said as she posed in front of a blue sky backdrop. The camera then cut to her dancing and posing in different outfits, proving just how versatile the shorts are.

“Yeah, that one,” she said while giggling. “American Eagle jean shorts.”

In a subsequent press release, Sweeney said that there’s “something timeless about a great pair of jean shorts.”

“They’re simple, but they make you feel confident and put-together without trying too hard,” she continued.

Sweeney also opened up about the brand creating custom styles that donate 100 percent of net proceeds to the Crisis Text Line to support those in need.

“Crisis Text Line, a cause so close to my heart, has been a part of this partnership from the beginning,” the actress explained. “I love knowing that when everyone wears these pieces, they are also a part of something meaningful, that directly helps people who need it.” Fans can shop the Syd Jen and Syd Short, which supports the mental health crisis line, at AE.com.

Sweeney’s second American Eagle campaign comes after her first ad sparked controversy for boasting about her “great jeans,” playing on her good looks in August 2025 that some likened to white supremacy and eugenics.

American Eagle responded to the backlash that same month, writing via social media, “‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”

Sweeney later opened up about the campaign, telling GQ in November 2025, “I did a jean ad.”

“I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans,” she said at the time. “All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.”
