Summer House‘s Ciara Miller says she spoke to West Wilson about not sleeping with other Bravo stars shortly before his shocking romance with their costar Amanda Batula.
“I felt like we were trying to move in a more positive direction since we hadn’t spoken to each other in two years,” Ciara, 30, told Glamour in an interview published on Friday, April 17, her first time speaking publicly about the scandal.
Ciara thought she was “starting to be friends” with West, 31, following their 2023 split. She even invited him to her 30th birthday dinner, which he attended.
“We had had a lot of conversations about, ‘OK, what do I need from you? What do you need from me? What are some of the boundaries that we want to keep in place? What’s going to make our friendship a lot easier?’” she recalled. “One of those [boundaries] was no more sleeping with people on Bravo. Obviously, now that’s out the window.”
She continued: “At the end of the day, we were genuine friends, which I think was what made it so hurtful when everything kind of went south [following our breakup], and why I needed to take time after.”
Despite her rocky history with West, Ciara admitted that she feels more betrayed by Amanda, 34.
“At the end of the day, a guy’s a guy. Whether or not West and I are working on a relationship, you just can’t put anything past a man,” she added. “But I just never would think that it would come from someone like Amanda, who has been what has felt like in my circle and in my corner for so long. I think that’s the craziest part.”
Rumors swirled earlier this year that Amanda and West were hooking up shortly after she announced her split from husband Kyle Cooke in January.
Amanda previously shut down the idea of having any potential involvement with another costar. “It’s not going to happen. I’m not touching any of my cast members,” she said on the “Trading Secrets” podcast in March. “Love them dearly, but I’m good.”
That same month, West insisted on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that he was “just hanging out” with Amanda, adding, “She’s single now. That’s [a] very important person to me and I care about her a lot. That’s a friend.”
The twosome eventually confirmed their relationship status in a social media statement on March 31, claiming, “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything.”
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected,” they continued, in part. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Ciara addressed the statement while speaking to Glamour, revealing she had “less than 24” hours notice about what was being posted.
“One [notification] was about 45 minutes before,” she recalled. “I read [the statement] with the rest of the world. There’s something about the lack of being able to say each other’s names in the statement that I found very telling, but I don’t know.”
