The Summer House cast has a lot of unanswered questions about Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s romance — and they aren’t convinced that they’re going to get any real answers.
“The cast is more than ready for the reunion to be over at this point, and the general vibe is a mix of frustration and curiosity,” a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. “The common consensus is that they’re not convinced they will get the full truth from Amanda and West, no matter how many times the questions are asked.”
The insider explains that members of the cast feel like “parts of the story are still being held back or carefully spun” by Amanda, 34, and West, 31. The source notes that this has “only made tensions worse behind the scenes.”
The Summer House cast “wants real and straightforward answers,” the source adds.
West and Amanda released a joint statement on March 31, confirming that their platonic relationship had turned romantic.
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected,” they wrote, in part. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Several members of the Summer House cast have since spoken out, reacting to the news. The same source tells Us that Lindsay Hubbard, Amanda’s estranged husband Kyle Cooke and West’s ex Ciara Miller — who also happens to be one of Amanda’s best friends — are willing “to hear them out” at the reunion so the cast can “put this to bed” and “move on.”
The insider also reveals that Kyle is the “only person” who is in touch with Amanda, while “no one” in the cast has spoken with West.
“I’ve sent some texts. Haven’t gotten responses from everybody yet, which is to be expected and I get it. That’s the hardest part,” West said when breaking his silence about the entire situation during the Monday, April 20, episode of his “Show Me Something” podcast. “I think with this whole situation is my actions have hurt people I care about.”
He added, “But the reunion’s coming up and I can give those apologies face-to-face and also clear up all of the crazy s*** that’s been on the internet.”
One thing West cleared up on Monday was rumors surrounding the timeline of his romance with Amanda.
“There was no overlap. I know there’s a thousand different theories on the internet right now but that is one thing that for sure did not happen,” he said. “Everyone was single.”
