Sonequa Martin-Green: What’s in My Bag? ‘It Goes With Everything’ (Exclusive)

Sonequa Martin-Green only keeps the essentials in her bag.

Martin-Green, who stars in My Dead Friend Zoe, which premiered on February 28, exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about everything she keeps in her tan leather purse, which she bought in Paris. Although she forgot the name of the brand, she told Us it’s similar to the Lancel Charlie purse. “It’s just big enough for all the things that I need,” Martin-Green explained. “And it’s got a long strap, so it goes with everything.”

Inside the leather bag, the actress keeps mostly the necessities, including some makeup and snacks, and one sentimental item—a photo of her late mother.

She also told Us she always has cash on her in case she sees someone in need.

Wallet

Thanks to the simplistic card case design, Martin-Green keeps her black leather wallet filled with only the necessities. “It has a little zipper for change,” she told Us, noting she never holds onto receipts. Inside, she holds her ID, a photo of her late mother and cash — in case her kids or someone in need asks for some change. Phone Charger

Martin-Green doesn’t go anywhere without her phone charger, which comes in handy when friends or family members ask to borrow it. “I don’t carry a lot of other tech [items] with me, because I try to not be buried in my phone,” she told Us.

While she doesn’t carry her iPad in her purse, Martin-Green does use her phone often, especially the YouVersion Bible App. “I love it because there’s all these different translations and it’s great to just have it on your phone,” she told Us, sharing she never wants her bag to feel too heavy.

Makeup

When it comes to getting glammed up, Martin-Green keeps it minimalistic. Her go-to’s are the Neutrogena Microbrow Tint Serum Pen and the Hurraw tinted lip balm — which her family also loves to borrow.

“I usually don’t wear much makeup in my day-to-day life,” the Walking Dead actress told Us. “When I leave the house, I really just need that chapstick.”

Perfume

Martin-Green “always” has her favorite vanilla-scented perfume on her, which she picked up from Sephora. She’s also been experimenting with Native deodorant as of late, loving their vanilla antiperspirant. “We’ll see if it sticks around,” she teased.

Snacks

Martin-Green is always prepared for her kids to get hungry and is sure to carry YumEarth snacks with her. She also stays healthy with Sea Moss supplements.
