Say “sayonara” to your diet.

Salad and Go, a made-to-order fast-casual spot dishing up salads, wraps and breakfast options, has filed for bankruptcy and revealed all locations will close down today. The company — which also owns another restaurant called Angie’s — announced the “bittersweet” shutters on their Facebook page.

“Today is a bittersweet day for us. Thirteen years ago, we started Salad and Go with a simple belief that great-tasting, good-for-you food should be affordable for everyone. We dreamed that anywhere there was a McDonald’s, there would also be a better and healthier alternative that people could afford,” the post read.

The co-founders of Salas and Go and now owners of Angie’s, Tony and Roushan Christofellis, exited back in 2021 after selling to an investment firm. Salad and Go filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on August 4 and typically offers the company a chance to reorganize — usually involving a corporation or partnership.

However, the closures seem to indicate the chain is coming to an end. The drive-thru salad chain has locations all across Arizona and Nevada and sent emails to customers notifying them of the company’s end.

Angie’s owners, the Christofellis, said the closures will not impact their current business as “The mission was never just about salads. It was always bigger than that. It has always been about making great food affordable for everyone. That is Angie’s — The New Fast Food.”

“While Salad and Go earned the support and loyalty of a deeply passionate community, the business was ultimately unable to overcome sustained pressure on consumer demand, past strategic growth challenges and rising costs,” the company told multiple outlets. “A Cyclospora outbreak in July, in which Salad and Go was not implicated, weakened confidence across the industry and compounded these challenges.”

The Post reached out to Salad and Go but has not heard back.

The Arizona-based company’s closures may have come as a shock after the chain opened over 60 stores in just a couple of years and by 2023, it was one of the fastest-growing concepts in the country. Just a year before that back in 2022, Salad and Go hired Wingstop’s CEO Charlie Morrison to run the brand.

However, shortly after in 2024, Morrison left the drive-thru chain to lead Jersey Mike’s. The company then hired former Krispy Kreme CEO Mike Tattersfield to take on the role in 2025 where one of his first moves was to close down 40 restaurants in Texas and Oklahoma.

A short five months after that, Salad and Go had just 70 locations left, according to National Restaurant News. Faithful customers were shocked after hearing the news and posted on Facebook after just enjoying a meal the day before.

“It gotta be mismanagement because I went there yesterday and that bish was packed!! The double Drive Thru lines were to the street!!”

Another sad customer wrote, “Those things are ALWAYS packed because they are the only drive thru that has kept their meals affordable and the food was literally always amazing.”
