California police said Friday that they were investigating reports of gunfire that hit the local ABC affiliate that was the scene of a protest a day earlier against the network’s decision to suspend late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

Just after 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sacramento police responded to reports of gunfire at ABC10, where three bullets ripped through a window of the TV station’s Broadway headquarters while employees were inside.

“Responding officers observed at least three gunshots into a window of the building,” the Sacramento Police Department said in a statement.

“The building was occupied and fortunately, nobody was injured.”

Police said they had no suspect information to release and could not yet say whether the shooting was random or targeted. There were no protesters near the building at the time of the shooting.

The attack came one day after about 15 protesters gathered outside the station, furious over ABC’s suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in the wake of controversial remarks the 57-year-old made about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s accused killer.

ABC10, also known as KXTV, is an affiliate station owned by Tegna and not directly controlled by ABC or Disney. Still, demonstrators directed their anger at the local station on Thursday, chanting against what they called censorship.

“We can confirm that shots were fired into our station at KXTV earlier today,” a Tegna spokesperson told The Post late Friday.

“While details are still limited, importantly all of our employees are safe and unharmed.”

The Tegna rep added that the company is “fully cooperating with law enforcement and have taken additional measures to ensure the continued safety of our employees.”

Video from the protest showed people carrying signs blasting ABC and defending Kimmel’s right to free speech.

The uproar began earlier in the week after Kimmel, in a Monday monologue, falsely said the “MAGA gang” was “desperately” trying to distance itself from Kirk’s alleged killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

Conservatives slammed Kimmel while pointing to evidence that the accused held leftist views.

FCC Chair Brendan Carr, a Trump appointee, told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson that the network needed to “correct course,” adding: “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.”

Nexstar Media Group, which recently announced a $6.2 billion deal to acquire Tegna and its affiliates, including KXTV, demanded Kimmel’s removal from the air in response to his comments about Kirk.

By Wednesday, ABC announced the late-night show would be “pre-empted indefinitely.”

That decision triggered coast-to-coast backlash from Kimmel’s fans, with protests breaking out in New York and Los Angeles.

Kimmel has not appeared on air since the suspension. Disney, which owns ABC, has not said when or if the show will return.

Police urged anyone with information to call investigators at 916-808-5471.
