The 27-year-old dubbed “Australia’s most sexually active woman” has ended up in hospital after sleeping with 583 men in a single day – revealing her “body had enough”.
Annie Knight was hospitalized on Wednesday after suffering with excessive bleeding, an alarming symptom of endometriosis, a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside it, causing severe pelvic pain and fertility issues.
Knight was diagnosed with the painful condition that affects around 1 in 7 Aussie women after coming off the hormonal contraceptive pill when she was in her mid-20s, and has been vocal about her struggle with her 200,000 followers.
The former marketing executive has been forced to take as many as six days a month off work due to the “horrific” symptoms she suffers, including cramping, heavy bleeding, bloating and even an inability to go to the bathroom.
But recently, Knight’s issues have worsened, with the adult star visiting the emergency department for the second time in the past month – just days after she filmed a video with 583 men.
“I got my period the day before the big challenge, but I have an IUD fitted, so the bleeding was very light,” the Gold Coast-based porn star told news.com.au.
“After the challenge, I felt fine, but a couple of days later I started getting really bad cramping and my period became very heavy.
“I started to become concerned that something else was going on so I went to the hospital to be safe.”
Knight said that medics were aware of her recent stunt and were worried about the physical toll it had taken on her body.
“Nurses were concerned I’d ruptured something or had caused damage to my body, so they did a bunch of scans and tests, and thankfully almost everything came back normal,” she said.
“Tests did show I have low iron and progesterone, and eventually concluded that it was my elevated stress levels that exacerbated my endometriosis.
“I was sent home and told to rest and try not to stress.”
Knight’s recent challenge saw her prepare for 200 men to take part. But when 583 blokes showed up for filming, she decided to accept them all.
The shoot was just one of many things the sex worker is juggling at the moment in her role as a popular X-rated content creator.
“I have been working myself to the bone, filming a lot – and trying to organise the challenge which was stressful as there was many moving parts,” Knight told news.com.au.
“I just bought a house two days before, so have been signing contracts and organising documents, and I’ve just come back from a huge trip overseas.
“It’s all very fun, but a lot of work, which contributed to my high stress levels. I’ve basically been working every day for the past five months and I think my body just finally had enough.”
While Knight said she appreciates the flexibility of being her own boss, she said her endometriosis does affect her ability to work at times, which makes her fear for her income.
“The industry is oversaturated, so even taking a week or two off can mean people look elsewhere for content,” she explained.
“I’m working on realising that my health is more important than anything else which is why I am taking a break from filming. I want to make sure my body recovers and is back to its best.”
Knight is now on the mend, and is spending time with her fiance Henry Brayshaw, a FIFO worker who was away during her hospital stay.
“I’ve been living with endometriosis my entire life (since puberty) I just never knew what it was, so I’m no stranger to the highs and lows of the disease,” Knight added.
“But my recent flare ups are worrying, so I’m now seeking out a specialist, as it has been an incredibly difficult few months.
“The cramps I’ve been getting are quite insane, but I am hopeful that resting will get my body right again.”
Knight’s 583 men marathon took place over just six hours, a feat most doctors don’t recommend.
Sydney medical practitioner, Dr Zac Turner, who specializes in preventive health and wellness, has previously warned that when “pushed to the extremes”, such activity could have a negative effect on the body.
“Sex, at its core, is a physically demanding activity that engages various muscles, the cardiovascular system, and the release of endorphins,” he told news.com.au.
“Done in moderation, it’s akin to a rewarding workout — promoting stress relief, cardiovascular health, and emotional bonding.
“However, when pushed to extremes, like a lengthy sexual marathon, the physical and physiological toll can be severe.”
