One of the 10 inmates who broke out of a New Orleans jail has posted a video while still on the run, begging President Trump for help.
The US Marshals Service confirmed to NOLA.com that it is investigating the video, which was first posted on Instagram Sunday by a man confirming he was accused kindapper and rapist Antoine Massey, 32, one of two escapees still at large.
“They say that I broke out. I didn’t break out. I was let out,” implored the man, whose distinctive face tattoos also match those of the fugitive who escaped with nine others last month.
“The reason why I left the jail is because these people were trying to give me a life sentence in both parishes for something that I did not do,” said the man claiming to be Massey, who was being held on domestic abuse involving strangulation and was wanted elsehwere on suspicion of kidnapping and rape.
In his video, the tattooed man implores Trump to investigate apparent corruption.
“All type of stuff going on and they covering it up … don’t care about nothing in the state of Louisiana. This is something that needs to go under a federal investigation,” the man says to the camera.
“I’m asking, please, for help … I’m saying people that been through the system that know it’s corrupt. Lil Wayne, Donald Trump, please, I’m asking for help. You know what I’m saying?”
The video was first published on Instagram on Sunday and then deleted, before later being posted by another account with the same username on Monday.
Deputy US Marshal Brian Fair and another law enforcement source confirmed to NOLA.com that they were investigating the video, which appeared to be the fugitive.
Massey was jailed in March on charges of motor vehicle theft and domestic abuse battery involving strangulation, and is also wanted by St. Tammany Parish authorities on suspicion of kidnapping and rape, law enforcement officials said.
He was among the eight who broke free last month — his fifth escape, including twice cutting off ankle monitors, NOLA said.
So far eight of the escapees have been arrested, with the only other still on the run being Derrick Groves, 27, a convicted double-murderer who was jailed last October.
