Off Campus costars Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston are dating after her split from fiancé Jake Short.

A source confirms to Us Weekly that Abdalla, 26, and Heuston, 29, are an item after meeting on the set of the hit Prime Video series and being spotted together by fans in Paris. (Reps for Abdalla and Heuston did not respond to requests for comment.)

Us previously broke the news of Abdalla’s split from Short, whom she began dating after meeting on the set of Sex Appeal in 2021. A rep for Abdalla told Us the former couple “remain on friendly terms.”

Abdalla and Heuston, meanwhile, worked together on season 1 of Off Campus. Based on the book series by Elle Kennedy, the show, which premiered in May, follows an elite ice hockey team and the women in their lives. Season 1 focused on Hannah (Ella Bright) and Garrett’s (Belmont Cameli) love story, with Heuston’s character Justin completing their love triangle.

Heuston exclusively spoke to Us about making a possible return to the series, saying, “That’s above my pay grade, but I just hope Justin finds love and continues to be happy while writing music.”

Before the show’s premiere, Heuston expressed hope that Justin would do “all right” for himself.

“Justin is following his heart. He’s a little lover boy at heart,” he noted. “I think things went the way that they went, but I think he’ll just continue to do that. He’ll probably go write some nice music about how heartbroken he is and then come back and try to find his love.”

Heuston saw Justin yearning “over someone else” after initially forming a connection with Hannah.

“I just tried to give Justin as much as possible. A lot of the time, if you fell into a stereotype of another cool guy that does music on campus, you wouldn’t have that love or affinity for him,” he told Us. “My main thing was just trying to make him as good as possible.”

News later broke that Heuston won’t be returning to the show — at least for season 2. The sophomore season will be led by Allie (Abdalla) and Dean (Stephen Kalyn).

“Even though we do tease Dean and Allie a lot earlier than people expect, you are still left wanting a lot more,” Abdalla exclusively told Us in May. “And that’s something I’m really excited about. You just want to see more.”

Abdalla explained that the show wanted to “stay true to a lot” of Allie and Dean’s love story.

“Allie and Hannah’s story lines are so connected to one another that it just made a lot of sense to touch on that this season,” she said about the extended focus on Allie and Dean throughout season 1. “All the books, they build off of each other and they’re all connected. It didn’t really make sense to not include certain elements from the other books in this season.”
