A disgraced Westchester County educator was banned from the high school he teaches at after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault a child in Connecticut on Sunday.

Raymond Szczerba, a science teacher at Westlake High School in Thornwood was arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually assault and entice a minor in Connecticut, News 12 Westchester reported.

Thornwood is just 15 miles away from the Connecticut-New York border.

Szczerba was placed on leave when his arrest became public on Monday, pending the outcome of an investigation. He is also banned from the high school and any school-related events for the duration of the probe, the outlet reported.

The troubled teacher was wiped from the high school’s website, but not from the Mount Pleasant Central School District’s.

Szczerba taught anything from earth science to oceanography, his shellshocked students explained online. He was a co-advisor for the high school’s science olympiad team — and led a gaggle of 18 teens to victory in a February competition, according to an MPCSD social media post.

The district praised Szczerba and the team’s other advisor for “their dedication” that spurred “meaningful learning experiences for our students.”

Szczerba taught at Westlake for at least a decade, according to archived local reports.

It’s unclear where he was arrested or how old his purported victim was.
