The wayward son accused of stabbing his famed Hollywood director father Rob Reiner and mom Michele to death will be hauled into Los Angeles court Tuesday, records show.
Nick Reiner, 32, is scheduled to make his initial appearance at the Los Angeles Municipal Court at 8:30 a.m. PST. where prosecutors will file formal charges against him.
He was cuffed by the Los Angeles Police Department Gang and Narcotics Unit around 9:15 p.m. Sunday 15 miles from where his parents were found dead in their Brentwood home, dramatic video of his arrest showed.
He was booked just after 5 a.m. Monday on suspicion of murder, records show, and is currently being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he’s reportedly on suicide watch.
The iconic director, behind beloved favorites like “The Princess Bride” and “A Few Good Men,” was found dead with his wife Michele Singer Reiner on Sunday afternoon by their 28-year-old daughter, Romy.
She told investigators at the time that her brother, who has struggled with drug addiction for most of his life, “should be a suspect’’ because he is “dangerous,’’ sources said.
Nick Reiner was arrested hours later and charged with their murders.
“As a result of the initial investigation, it was determined that the Reiners were the victims of homicide,” LAPD said in a statement. “The investigation further revealed that Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Robert and Michele Reiner, was responsible for their deaths.”
Sources said Nick and his parents got into a “very loud argument” at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party Saturday — possibly because the son was back on drugs and refusing to get treatment.
Nick has been in rehab at least 17 times since age 15.
