Megyn Kelly tore into Sen. Jon Ossoff for dragging Trump aide Natalie Harp into an attack on the president — accusing the Georgia Dem of insinuating that the pair are having an affair without evidence and then refusing to own it.

“I think … this is despicable because — why would you attack a 35-year-old cancer survivor as a possible affair partner to the president of the United States when you have absolutely nothing to back that up?” Kelly said on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

The former Fox News star was reacting to remarks Ossoff made at a Sunday rally in Georgia, where he took aim at Trump and mentioned Harp, the president’s executive assistant.

“He golfs and trades stocks,” Ossoff said of Trump.

“See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace.”

Kelly accused Ossoff of deliberately floating a salacious insinuation about Trump and Harp.

“This guy decides to go with obviously the intimation. He doesn’t say it explicitly. Is clearly that they’re having an affair,” Kelly said.

“That’s just very clearly the intimation, right?”

Harp, 35, is a cancer survivor who serves as Trump’s executive assistant and has worked closely with him for years.

She first gained national attention after publicly crediting Trump with saving her life through his support for the federal Right to Try law, which he signed in 2018.

Harp spoke at the 2020 Republican National Convention and later went to work directly for Trump.

She has since become a fixture at the president’s side and plays a hands-on role in his communications operation, including typing social media posts dictated by Trump.

Kelly said she believed Ossoff, who has been discussed as a possible Democratic presidential contender, was trying to burnish his credentials as a political brawler by going after Trump.

“He wanted to generate some buzz as a tough guy,” Kelly said.

“I think this is Ossoff being like, ‘I’m a fighter. I can fight Trump. I fight below the belt just like he does’.”

But Kelly said Ossoff backed away from the implication when pressed about his remarks by former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki on MSNBC.

Psaki asked Ossoff why he had singled out Harp.

Ossoff responded by describing Trump as retreating into a “bubble of West Wing aides who are his security blanket.”

Kelly wasn’t buying it.

“That appears to be just a dodge and a lie. It was about Natalie. There’s a reason he mentioned her,” she said.

Kelly also pointed to Harp’s presence alongside Trump during a security-related aircraft switch in Turkey, saying the episode had fueled chatter about which members of the president’s traveling party accompanied him.

But she argued that none of it justified suggesting a romantic relationship between Trump and Harp.

Kelly said Ossoff made matters worse by refusing to stand behind what she viewed as the obvious implication of his original remarks.

“Whatever, double down!” Kelly said.

“If you’re gonna be this tough guy in the mold of Trump, this fighter, why don’t you just own what you said, sir? Go ahead, lean in. Let me hear you be the fighter.”

Instead, Kelly accused the Georgia Democrat of slinging “mud” at Trump and Harp before trying to distance himself from it.

“No, he just decided to sling mud against the president and, uh, Natalie — not to mention this is hurtful to Melania potentially — and then try to wipe his hands of it and pretend he didn’t do it,” Kelly said.

“We all know he did it.”

Kelly predicted the episode could become a liability for Ossoff if he eventually seeks the White House.

“I actually think this is — this is not a good mark for him, and I think it could come back to haunt him when he declares for president, as I think he will,” she said.

Kelly also mocked Ossoff’s speaking style, comparing his cadence to former President Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey.

“That’s exactly who he sounds like! It’s a combination of Barack and Oprah,” Kelly said.

“And these people are so weak and so insecure and just so unsure of themselves that they can’t just be themselves.”

Kelly said Ossoff would eventually have to develop his own political persona if he makes a run for the presidency.

“He’s going to have to do that if he decides to run for president, because eventually you kind of got to show the people who you are,” she said.

The Post has sought comment from Ossoff and the White House.
