A massive mansion party descended into chaos in an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood as thousands packed the property. Reports of a large fight and an allegedly armed man drew police attention before the bash was shut down.
Up to 2,000 people showed up at the Tarzana property on Monday for a large pool party, according to TMZ.
The crowd turned the San Fernando Valley neighborhood into a busy scene, leading to a major police response.
The party was connected to Streamer University, a digital creator boot camp started by popular streamer Kai Cenat.
Los Angeles police told KTLA they began receiving calls about trouble at the property in the 4000 block of Mecca Avenue at around 4:30 p.m.
The first call referenced a “large party with 1,000-plus people in a residence and a large fight outside,” said the LAPD.
More disturbance calls followed throughout the afternoon and evening, including one around 8 p.m. reporting an allegedly armed man.
By around 10 p.m., officers arrived and began shutting down the party, escorting groups away from the property and dispersing people loitering in the surrounding area.
An LAPD helicopter circled overhead as officers used a loudspeaker to order people outside to clear out.
“If you’re on the sidewalk, you didn’t make the cut. Go home,” officers could be heard announcing in video obtained by KTLA.
Preliminary information indicated the party was hosted by Cenat as part of his Streamer University program, though it was not immediately known if the 24-year-old internet personality was there.
Cenat has amassed a combined 38 million followers across Instagram and Twitch and founded Streamer University as a boot camp for aspiring and growing online creators.
Its participants included former Disney star Skai Jackson and “Love Island USA” contestant Jeremiah Brown, while Cenat regularly brings celebrities and prominent creators into the program as “professors” and “club directors.”
The upscale home at the center of Monday’s gathering is no stranger to large events, according to neighbors.
Residents told the outlet the property regularly hosts large gatherings, which has frustrated the neighborhood.
Despite the enormous turnout and multiple disturbance calls, Los Angeles police said no injuries were reported and no arrests were made.
