Katseye member Manon Bannerman’s time with the musical group has come to a close after she stepped away for a hiatus.

Days after Bannerman, 23, removed “Katseye” from her Instagram bio, a source tells Us Weekly that the singer is not planning to return to the girl group.

Us reached out to Bannerman and a rep for Katseye for comment.

Back in February, Katseye — which also consists of members Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza and Yoonchae Jeung — announced that Bannerman would be taking a break from the band.

“After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing,” a statement from the group read on the social media platform Weverse. “We fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.”

Katseye concluded by thanking the group’s fans, known as Eyekons, for their “continued love, patience and understanding.”

In her own statement, Bannerman reassured fans that she was OK.

“Hi friends,” she wrote via Weverse. “I want you to hear this from me, I’m healthy, I’m OK and I’m taking care of myself. Thank u for checking in! Sometimes things unfold in ways we don’t fully control, but I’m trusting the bigger picture. Thank you for standing by me. I love you endlessly and can’t wait to see you again.”

Bannerman shared another message to fans via Weverse last week.

“Thank you so much for all the love and support you’ve been sending my way. I’m really grateful for the patience and kindness everyone has shown during this time,” she wrote. “[Katseye’s management] HxG and I are having positive conversations, and I feel supported. I’m happy, and I’m healthy. I’ll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me.”

Katseye was formed through Hybe and Geffen Records’ 2023 reality competition series Dream Academy. The group is known for their breakthrough single, “Touch,” and their hit “Gabriela.” Katseye was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammys in February.

Throughout the group’s rise to fame, fans have speculated that Bannerman — Katseye’s only Black member — has been singled out, pointing to her exclusion from the “Gabriela” music video and other instances of the singer not being visible in the band’s promotional materials.

Bannerman opened up about receiving criticism in an interview with The Cut earlier this year.

“Being called lazy, especially as a Black girl, is not fair,” she told the outlet in February. “Now I feel like I always need to put in extra work to prove something, even though I really don’t.”
