A livery cabbie was shot in the face by a bystander who opened fire soon after the motorist collided with a van driver in Brooklyn Friday, cops and sources said.
The 50-year-old TLC driver had just picked up a fare from NYCHA’s Whitman Houses on North Portland Avenue near Auburn Place in Fort Greene shortly after 4 a.m. when he got into a fender-bender with a white Sprinter van, police said.
Both motorists began arguing when a pedestrian – who was not connected to either driver – suddenly approached and shot the cabbie in the right cheek, authorities said.
The victim was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he is expected to survive.
The shooter had not been caught hours later.
The violence came weeks after a gun-toting passenger shot a rideshare driver in the face during a robbery in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens around the same time July 11, police said.
That cabbie, too, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect has not been caught.
It also comes one day after a meat cleaver-wielding maniac slashed a man in the head and body during a fit of road-rage fury in College Point, Queens, law enforcement sources said.
The other driver, behind the wheel of a Toyota, became enraged and stabbed the victim in the back of the head, left arm and chest with the serrated weapon, according to authorities and sources.
The victim in that case is also listed in stable condition and no arrests have been made.
