Lindsay Clancy’s outspoken defense lawyer, Kevin Reddington, directly appealed to President Trump early Tuesday to pardon the killer mom.

“Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady – the type of person she is and what she’s been through – and consider a pardon,” he told “Good Morning America” when asked what was next for Clancy after her high-profile case ended in a mistrial Friday.

Reddington said he hoped Trump would weigh in given that he had “felt compelled to speak out about this case,” without noting how the president had said the mom would have to “pay the price” for killing her three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and baby Callan, 8 months.

“It’s a horrible tragedy,” Trump had told reporters last week.

Here’s the latest on Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial:

“Look, she did a horrible, horrible thing. Can’t be worse. But you’ll find out what the price to pay is. There’ll be a price. It’s going to be [a] mental institution or jail or something,” Trump stated.

Reddington’s stunning request came at the end of the brief sit-down interview in which he called his client “a wonderful, wonderful person.”

Reddington said he wished he had been more “circumspect” before saying his case “crushed” District Attorney Tim Cruz, but said he did not regret his braggadocious word choice.

He also addressed statements he made following the jury’s 11-1 split indicating he was upset at a juror who did not side with the others, resulting in the mistrial.

“I would defend that individual’s right to be a holdout forever, that’s part of our judicial system. I respect that and I would certainly defend his right to do that,” he said.

His frustration with the lone holdout – who he said he didn’t think was living out a “12 Angry Men” scenario – was because of a note from the jury forelady that said he “had doubt but would not apply reasonable doubt” to his vote on the verdict.

“That I objected to,” Reddington said.

He rebuffed the “outright falsehoods” that came out during the trial claiming Clancy’s husband, Patrick, was involved in the death.

“It has to stop and there should be consequences,” he said.

Reddington also placed blame for the tragic death of the couple’s three children squarely on the system failing Clancy, who he said was suffering from post-partum depression and couldn’t get help.

He pointed out that meeting her psychiatrist – who had billed herself as an expert on post-partum depression and had been practicing for only a month – was “the worst thing she could have done,” referencing the numerous medications she was prescribed for depression concurrently.

“She said in letters to family she was suffering, and she was suffering horribly. She called sucide hotlines twice. This girl’s life was ruined.”

Asked whether blaming mental illness on the killing of the children, which Clancy admitted she had done, was a rationalization, as critics have said, Reddington said “these people don’t understand what she went through. They didn’t see her text messages, her journal, the letter she sent her mother in october ‘I’m sick, something is wrong,’” he said.

“She reached out to everybody who would listen to her and said I am not well and was ignored.”
