A Long Island 4-year-old girl has been found safe after she was kidnapped by a creep who led her out of a laundromat under her mom’s nose, according to cops in Suffolk County.
Carlos Corte, 38, is accused of leading the tot out of the back of Laundry Kingdom in Patchogue while her mother was there, police said.
The girl’s mother reported her missing following the terrifying incident just after midday Saturday, and patrol officers responded to the scene and reviewed surveillance footage.
During a canvass of the area, the girl was thankfully found by her mother in the children’s play area of the Patchogue-Medford Library just a few doors down from the laundromat.
Corte, of Patchogue, was charged with second-degree kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant.
He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
