Guests of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s upcoming wedding can bring the fun – but not the gifts.
“We are excited for you to join us! We have one early request: Please, no gifts,” the couple’s wedding invitation obtained by ABC News revealed. “Instead, we’re making contributions in your honor and with gratitude to you for making the journey to celebrate with us in Venice.”
In the invite, which was sent to guests in May, the couple listed three charities that hold special meaning to them.
“Donations on your behalf are being made to the UNESCO Venice Office to safeguard the city’s irreplaceable cultural heritage,” the invitation stated, “to CORILA to restore the lagoon habitats that protect Venice’s future, and to Venice International University to support research and education for sustainable solutions.”
The gesture is being done in hopes that other couples can experience the magic that is Venice, Italy.
“This magical place has gifted us unforgettable memories,” the couple explained in their letter to guests. “Our hope is that through these efforts and by you joining us, Venice will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come.”
Excitement continues to grow for the pair’s highly anticipated wedding as guests like Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Eva Longoria are reported to be attending.
On Sunday, June 22, Bezos, 61, and Sánchez, 55, seemingly kicked off the fun by enjoying a day out on the water off the coast of Europe.
But before people assume it was part of the wedding festivities, Page Six reported that the couple was actually celebrating Sánchez’s 19-year-old son Evan’s birthday with a foam party on their $500 million superyacht. (Sánchez shares Evan with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell.)
As for the actual wedding, a source previously revealed to Us that Sánchez will be wearing custom Dolce & Gabbana couture looks made to match every event during the star-studded, multi-day celebration.
“It will be a big wedding,” the source said, and “a very Italian wedding.”
Sánchez’s older brother, Paul, also previously teased to TMZ that the event could rival Princess Diana‘s iconic “wedding of the century” in both scale and magnificence.
While many eyes will be on Venice, Italy, as guests begin arriving, many wedding details remain top-secret.
One thing that is certain is the fact that Sánchez has been dreaming about her romantic day for quite some time.
“I have to say, I do have a Pinterest,” Sánchez joked during an appearance on Today in November 2024. “I’m just like every other bride.”
