Hilaria Baldwin references a “nasty” celebrity in her new book, and some observers are speculating that it’s Amy Schumer.

Hilaria, who is married to actor Alec Baldwin, addresses the unnamed celebrity in Manual Not Included, which details her family life with Alec, 67, and their seven children.

According to Hilaria, 41, a “famous person, someone I’ve never met, who said nasty and untrue things about me and my family” had mentioned the Baldwins in a “show” and “even tried to bait me and Alec via Instagram.”

“We didn’t engage with her and I guess I am proud of that,” the author writes, per People. “It made me mad at the system, but here, in this book, is where I can talk about it. I don’t need to use her name and I don’t want any problems with her, and I would like to be left out of any articles that mention her, because she has nothing to do with me. A total stranger.”

In June 2023, Schumer, 43, roasted Hilaria and Alec during her Netflix special Emergency Contact. The comedian and actress recalled meeting Hilaria years before while they were backstage at Saturday Night Live. During their interaction, Schumer said that the Massachusetts native told her she was “from España” and used a “thick Spanish accent.”

“[Hilaria and Alec] have a Von Trapp amount of children, and they named them all ― I’m not sure, but very Spanish names like Jamón, Croqueta and Flamenco,” Schumer joked in the special. “And all of this would be fine and beautiful, except that ‘Hilaria from España’ is actually Hillary from Boston. This woman is in no way Spanish. Her parents are not from Spain. No one in her life is from Spain. You’re going, ‘What?!’ Did you think I was just doing a really racist Spanish impression?”

When the show began streaming, Hilaria “became very sick with stress,” she recalls in her book, revealing that one of her children had shed tears about the commentary.

“It gutted me because I couldn’t understand how someone could be so inherently cruel,” she says, per People.

Even so, “I don’t need an apology,” she writes, adding, “No matter what, I hope I never meet her.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Schumer and Hilaria’s reps for comment.

Before marrying Alec in 2012, Hilaria was known as Hillary Hayward-Thomas up until 2009. In their nearly 13-year marriage, Hilaria and Alec have welcomed kids Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, Maria, 4, and Ilaria, 3. (Alec is also father to daughter Ireland, 29, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.)

In 2020, Hilaria came under fire for allegedly appropriating Spanish culture. Following the backlash, Hilaria sat down with the New York Times to share her side of the story.

“So, I’m not trying to bully a sociopath,” Schumer said in 2023. “I have a point, OK? I think what had happened was [that] she went to Spain. And I’ve been lucky enough to go to Spain. Some of you have been. It’s great, right? Don’t you love it? I loved it, too. But Hillary from Boston … loooved it! I am going to be from it!”
