It’s supposed to be all peace, love and perfect sets — but one Santa Cruz session turned into a shoreline scrap straight out of “Point Break.”

A wild early-morning clash between two surfers at the famed Steamer Lane was caught on camera, showing tempers flare from a brief smackdown in the sea to a full-on fight on land.

The now-viral footage, first flagged by Surfer Magazine, shows the moment things boiled over Saturday around 7:15 a.m., when local surfer and martial arts adonis Sandro Santiago says a fellow wave rider confronted him over an alleged past run-in.

Santiago later posted the clip online and said the pair initially exchanged pleasantries before things took a sharp turn.

The other surfer complained the black belt jiu-jitsu fighter had previously yelled at him for cliff-jumping into the lineup, a major party foul in surf etiquette.

That’s when things escalated.

Santiago claims the man began chasing him through the surf, repeated threatening to “kick my ass” before throwing a punch.

Rather than trading blows in the break, the two agreed to take it to the shore.

The video cuts to the staircase leading down to the break, where the brawl rumbled on. But Santiago says he kept his cool and used his fighting skills to de-escalate the situation from turning into a serious scrap.

That’s because Santiago isn’t just another Santa Cruz surfer, he’s a sixth-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.

Santiago said he restrained the man and demanded an apology.

“I didn’t throw a single punch,” he wrote, adding that his training is rooted in discipline and self-defense.

In a sport where “localism” used to mean territorial standoff’s and occasional scraps, outright fights like this have become increasingly rare, per reports.

But the clip is a reminder that even in the laid-back world of surfing, respect isn’t optional.
