Heather McComb and Scott Michael Campbell were close friends for more than a decade before their relationship turned romantic.
In March 2026, McComb and Campbell tied the knot. “Yesterday @scottmichaelcampbell and I under the covenant of God got officially married by my beautiful sister @essence_says surround[ed] by the people we love most in the world in our most favorite city Missoula Montana,” McComb wrote via Instagram at the time. “Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by. God is so good. Thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled from all over the country to be with us. Thank you Jesus the way maker miracle worker!”
She continued, “You all made it so special and a truly magical weekend that we will never forget. We are sitting here counting our many blessings. Thank you to everyone who made this so special for us!”
McComb previously married James Van Der Beek in July 2003. The pair announced their separation in April 2009, one year before he exchanged vows with Kimberly Van Der Beek. James, who had six children with Kimberly, died in February 2026 after a battle with stage III colorectal cancer.

March 2024
McComb paid tribute to Campbell while honoring a milestone moment in their relationship. “A year ago today these two best friends of 15 years started a new journey together,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Thank you @scottmichaelcampbell for giving my heart a safe place to reside. This was whirlwind of a year. So many adventures. We will update you on our tour dates LOL.”
April 2025
Campbell popped the question to McComb in April 2025. “By the river in Montana my love and best friend @scottmichaelcampbell got on his knee and asked me to marry him,” McComb wrote via Instagram, which Campbell reshared. “I said yes. God brought this beautiful Godly man in my life in his perfect timing. Thank you Lord! 17 years of friendship turned into this! God is good.”
Campbell captioned the post, “I LOVE you Heather… ❤️❤️❤️.”
May 2026
McComb and Campbell tied the knot in May 2026.
