FIRST ON FOX: A terrified teen hid in a closet and watched an elderly neighbor gun down her friend and the girl’s mother in Missouri, dispatch audio obtained by Fox News Digital reveals.
Robert Winkelman, 73, walked down the street to his neighbor’s House Springs, Missouri, home on July 25 at around 8:30 p.m. and confronted 38-year-old Jessica Lashly about what was going on at her house, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said.
When Lashly responded, Winkelman took out a gun and shot her in the head. As Lashly’s 17-year-old daughter, Jersey Greer, rushed to help her mother, Winkelman shot the teen in the head as well, the sheriff’s office said. He then chased a third person while still armed but did not fire, deputies said. Lashly and Greer died days later at a hospital.
MISSOURI NEIGHBOR ACCUSED OF KILLING MOTHER AND TEEN DAUGHTER AFTER CONFRONTING FAMILY OVER DISPUTE
In new 911 dispatch audio obtained by Fox News Digital, a dispatcher can be heard saying that the slain 17-year old’s friend was hiding in a closet.
“We do have a visual victim hiding in a closet, advising that her friend got shot. We do that law in route, but they are not on scene,” the dispatcher said.
A dispatcher said two gunshots could be heard in the background of the call, which was placed by someone who reported a woman was struggling to breathe.
“Received a call, no longer receiving a response from anyone on the phone. We did hear shots in the background,” the dispatcher said. “It sounds like possibly two gunshots went off.”

“It’s unclear what’s going on at this time,” he added.
When deputies arrived at Winkelman’s home and moved to confront him a short time later, he turned the gun on himself.
He died at a hospital Aug. 2, according to investigators, who said he would have been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.
