An influencer’s creepy video taken on Meta glasses hauntingly shows a missing Australian woman in Las Vegas as she was traveling solo through California and Nevada.
The footage shows the man approaching Sally Grace Contarino, 26, on June 17 — just days before she failed to board her flight home to Melbourne and has not been heard from since June 20.
Police say she’s an “endangered missing adult” who “might possibly be in severe emotional distress and in need of medical assistance.”
A man is shown parking his car at a 7/11 on Boulder Highway before walking up to a smoking Contarino, wearing a black top and jean shorts.
“I thought you were very beautiful. I was wondering if I could get your number by chance,” the man asks. “I have a boyfriend,” she responds.
He apologizes before asking if she’s waiting for her boyfriend. “No, I’m just gonna have a cigarette and go inside,” she said.
The man acknowledges, and then quickly gets into his car and starts it before the video ends. The influencer had provided the footage to Las Vegas police before he shared it publicly.
Contarino later texted her friends on June 19 that she was going on a hike. “I’m about to hike up Lone Mountain then go home – I fly back tomorrow,” she said.
Later that day, she was seen leaving Timbers Bar & Grill at about 10:30 p.m. after using an ATM. Employees there said nothing seemed wrong about her.
Restaurant manager Jocelyn Zeigler-Arthur said Contarino was “quiet” and appeared “happy” while dining there.
CCTV captured her returning to her hotel in the area, the Bungalows Hostel, in the early hours of June 20. The hotel is known for being in a shady area, according to local residents.
Her family said she told hostel staff that she would return to collect her luggage, ordered breakfast and a protein smoothie at a nearby cafe, and boarded a bus to Mount Charleston. The mountain is popular among Las Vegans seeking nice hikes and cooler temperatures.
Police believe she deboarded the bus and went on a planned hike in the area. She had reportedly been in the area before and enjoyed hiking. But she was never seen returning to her hotel.
A Greyhound bus ticket she purchased to head back to Los Angeles to catch her flight home was never scanned. No CCTV footage shows her boarding the bus.
Las Vegas cops have recovered her luggage and are deploying search dogs using her clothing. Her two sisters have flown into the area to assist with the search.
“They are exhausted, which is completely understandable,” a source told the US Sun. “Both are now working alongside authorities.”
Contarino is described as having a thin build, 5 feet 5 inches tall with fair skin, brown hair and brown eyes.
Police are urging the public to contact them if they have any information about her disappearance.
