Guy Fieri is clarifying a viral photo that showed the Food Network star mingling with controversial “manosphere” influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate.
“I’m seeing all of your comments about the photo from Saturday’s UFC event, and all I can say is that I’m devastated,” Fieri, 58, wrote via X on Tuesday, April 14. “I was there to see the fights, and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello, and that’s when the exchange happened. I did not know them or about them before that moment.”
While attending UFC 327 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, on Saturday, April 11, Fieri was specifically caught on camera shaking hands with Andrew, 39.
“I’ll never pretend to be a perfect person, but let me be crystal clear,” Fieri added in his latest social media post. “I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way.”
Both Andrew and Tristan, 37, are professional kickboxers who turned into controversial social media influencers who have a habit of showcasing their lavish lifestyles.
The brothers are also associated with the “manosphere,” a social media movement that seeks to elevate men and invalidate feminism.
Andrew and Tristan both previously faced multiple accusations of sexual assault and human trafficking. They have both denied the allegations.
“We live in a democratic society where it’s innocent until proven guilty, and I think my brother and I are largely misunderstood,” Andrew told reporters in February 2025. “There’s a lot of opinions about us, a lot of things that got around about us on the internet. We’ve yet to be convicted of any crime in our lives ever.”
As for Fieri, he has been affiliated with the Food Network since 2006 and is the host of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Guy’s Grocery Games.
While it’s unclear what specifically propelled Fieri to speak out about his run-in with the Tate brothers, some social media followers were very critical of the sighting.
“I didn’t know @guyfieri was hanging around people like this. It says a lot about him,” one fan wrote via Threads before Fieri issued his explanation. Another user added, “Anyone should be embarrassed being filmed being friendly with a scum like Andrew Tate.”
This isn’t the first time Fieri has raised eyebrows for his interactions at UFC events. In July 2023, the Chicken Guy! founder was photographed greeting President Donald Trump ringside at UFC 290 in Las Vegas.
