Gal Gadot has portrayed many iconic superheroes on the big screen — none of which can compare to motherhood.
“When my household is under control, I feel like I’m unbeatable,” Gadot, 41, exclusively told Us at the Runner premiere on Thursday, August 27. “Raising four girls is a lot, and the schedules and the schools and all the everything that goes around them and that — it’s a lot.”
She continued, “When the household is happy and good, I feel like I’ve done what I needed to do. [Being a] mom is my superpower.”
Gadot has been married to Jaron Varsano since 2008, during which they welcomed four daughters: Alma, 14, Maya, 9, Daniella, 5, and Ori, 2.
The Wonder Woman actress gave birth to Ori in 2024 after an admittedly terrifying health scare.
“In February, during my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in my brain,” Gadot wrote via Instagram in December 2024. “For weeks, I had endured excruciating headaches that confined me to bed, until I finally underwent an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth. In one moment, my family and I were faced with how fragile life can be. It was a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change, and in the midst of a difficult year, all I wanted was to hold on and live.”
She added at the time, “We rushed to the hospital, and within hours, I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear. Her name, meaning ‘my light,’ wasn’t chosen by chance. Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.”
By the time of her upload, Gadot stressed that she had “made it through” the procedure and was “fully healed.”
“The journey has taught me so much. It’s vital to listen to our bodies and trust what it’s telling us,” she added. “Pain, discomfort, or even subtle changes often carry deeper meaning, and being attuned to your body can be life saving.”
After making a full recovery, Gadot has returned to the silver screen. She most recently stars in the new action flick The Runner, of which her previous Wonder Woman training was no match to play a lawyer racing through London to save her abducted son.
“This one was much more intensive and took a lot more from me just because it’s a skill I didn’t have,” Gadot told Us on Thursday. “When I learned stunt choreographies and stuff like that, it reminds me a lot of choreographies from the days when I was a dancer, so that’s cerebral [and] it’s easy. Running, however, I was never a runner. I hate running. I needed to really teach myself how to do it in a way that I will be able to endure all this running. So for nine months … I had multiple trainers, but the guy who taught me how to run was Malachi Davis, who’s an Olympic trainer, and he just taught me how to do it.”
The Runner premieres on Prime Video Wednesday, September 2.
