Reacher’s Alan Ritchson appeared to get into a dispute with a neighbor that turned physical.
The actor, 43, is allegedly featured in footage obtained by TMZ on Sunday, March 22, where a man is seen beating up someone while two kids on motorbikes watch. Ritchson’s neighbor Ronnie Taylor told the outlet that he was the victim after a dispute on Saturday, March 21, over excessive noise.
Taylor initially spoke with Ritchson about riding his bike — specifically going at excessive speeds and revving his engine — through their Nashville suburb. Taylor flipped Ritchson off, who returned the gesture.
Later that same day, Ritchson returned to speeding in the area on his bike with two kids, seemingly his own. After Taylor asked Ritchson to stop, the situation got physical. Taylor reported the incident to the authorities after he was allegedly punched and kicked in the face.
Taylor showed TMZ photos of his injuries, which allegedly resulted from Ritchson trying to run him off with his bike before hitting him in the back of the head. Taylor accused Ritchson of hitting him “at least four times” while he was on the ground.
Sources later claimed to TMZ that Taylor was the one to approach Ritchson’s bike in a “really aggressive” manner. As a result, Ritchson fell off his motorcycle and suffered cuts and bruises. Taylor allegedly dared Ritchson to hit him, which the actor refused to do and instead attempted to leave the situation. Ritchson allegedly got physical once Taylor shoved him to the ground.
Law enforcement confirmed to the outlet that there is an investigation stemming from an incident between both parties, but no arrests have been made. Us Weekly has reached out to Ritchson for comment.
Ritchson made his acting debut on The CW’s Smallville before finding success on Blue Mountain State, Titans and Reacher. He previously opened up about his difficult time in the modeling industry and how sexual assault affected his mental health.
“There are very few redeeming qualities to working in that industry. Let’s be honest, it’s like legalized sex trafficking,” Ritchson said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, which was published in April 2024. “The industry is not regulated, and it’s a widely known secret that if you’re hired on a job, you’re basically being passed off to a photographer to be trafficked. The number of times and situations where I was put in horrific environments where sexual abuse was the goal and the paycheck that you were desperate for in order to survive was the carrot, I can’t count on two hands.”
Following multiple instances of sexual assault, Ritchson struggled with deteriorating mental health and eventually attempted suicide. Ritchson said a vision of his sons, whom he shares with wife Catherine, stopped him from ending his life, adding, “They calmly asked me not to do it, and told me that they wanted me to be here, alive and part of their lives. I was diagnosed as bipolar right after. Deep down, I was comforted to know, ‘OK, there’s a name for this.’”
