The mass shooting that left three family members dead in rural North Carolina Wednesday was sparked by a feud over inherited land, a relative has reportedly claimed.
A family member said the shooting came after siblings had been fighting over 150 acres of land left by their parents, ABC11 reported.
Authorities in rural Caswell County, where the shooting occurred, confirmed Wednesday that everyone involved was in the same family, although they have not released the names of the victims or possible motive for the crime.
The shooter died along with two victims; one other victim survived and was hospitalized with gunshot wounds, the Caswell County Sheriff’s Department said in a Wednesday press conference.
