This is where love goes to die.

Researchers pinpointed where American romances were rotting on the vine by tracking the per-capita Google searches of “couples therapy,” “divorce lawyers,” “how to save your marriage” and other dire signals.

Relationships in Colorado are apparently as rocky as its mountains, with 12,000 monthly searches, or 204 per 100,000 residents, interactive research tool Spin the Wheel Generator found.

Love is not in bloom in the Garden State either, with New Jersey ranked second in most miserable couples, racking up 17,756 breakup-related searches per month, or 191 per 100,000 residents.

New York was a close third, with 188 searches per 100,000 residents, or 36,883 red-flag searches per month, the study found.

“New York and New Jersey are fast-paced, high-pressure environments that attract ambitious, career-driven individuals. The relentless pace of metropolitan life, coupled with ongoing struggles for work-life balance, often adds significant strain to romantic relationships,” Big Apple relationship expert Susan Winter told The Post about the findings.

In Winter’s experience, “urban couples often carry heightened expectations when it comes to intimacy, communication and fulfillment,” she said.

“When those lofty expectations collide with the realities of daily stress, long work hours, and the natural imperfections of human connection, many couples find themselves at an impasse. That’s when they turn to outside guidance – seeking therapists who can help them bridge the gap between what they hoped for and what they’re actually experiencing.”

However, “divorce lawyer near me” was the most commonly Googled relationship phrase in the Garden State and five others, the researchers found.

“Couples therapy” was the most frequently searched in New York and 38 other states — which suggests that most Americans “are conscious of the fact that issues exist and are seeking a remedy,” said Winter.

Utah and Massachusetts were fourth and fifth for most unhappy couples.

On the flip side, South Dakota boasts the nation’s most content couples – with just 689 monthly searches for love help, or 75 per 100,000 residents.

Mississippians ranked second for happiest romances, followed by Arkansas, Louisiana and Alaska.

But Dr. Wendy Walsh, a relationship expert for DatingAdvice.com, cautioned that low search rates may not necessarily mean high satisfaction – and could instead reflect a lack of resources that put pricey couples therapy and divorce lawyers out of reach.

“It’s no secret that South Dakota, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana have much lower median household income than New Jersey and New York,” Walsh noted.

“People who struggle in a lower socio-economic strata . . . do not have the resources – monetarily and educationally – to reach out for professional help,” she said.
