Former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was spotted with his wife three months after being caught on a Jumbotron hugging coworker Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert.
The Daily Mail published photos on Wednesday, October 1, showing Andy, 51, and his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, both wearing their wedding rings during a few outings in Maine. Neither has commented directly on the controversy that engulfed Astronomer over the summer.
The married tech CEO unexpectedly went viral while attending a July 16 concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, when he was shown on the Jumbotron with his arms around Cabot, Astronomer’s chief people officer, as part of a “kiss cam” segment. Coldplay singer Chris Martin called the pair out from the stage when they tried hiding from the cameras.
“Whoa, look at these two. Alright, come on. You’re OK,” he joked. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy. I’m not quite sure what to do.”
Fan footage of the incident blew up on TikTok, with Astronomer confirming two days later that it was conducting a “formal investigation” into the matter.
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,” a July 18 statement from the company read. “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”
Less than 24 hours later, the company announced Andy’s resignation as its CEO and confirmed he’d been replaced by company cofounder Pete DeJoy on an interim basis. (Andy joined the company as CEO in 2023 after serving as president of tech firm Lacework from 2019 to 2022.)
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” a spokesperson for Astronomer confirmed to Us Weekly on July 19. “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.”
In the wake of the scandal, Andy’s wife Megan — who works as the Associate Director of the Lower School and Admissions for the Hope Graham Program — was bombarded with messages via social media. While some comments were supportive, Megan removed “Byron” from her last name on Facebook and later scrubbed her account entirely.
Cabot, 53, exited as Astronomer’s chief people officer in July. She subsequently filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew Cabot, on August 13, though a spokesperson for Andrew told People that the former couple “privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert.”
“[Their] decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening,” Andrew’s representative clarified. “Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”
A surprising development occurred more than two months after the scandal when it was reported that Andy and Kristin were not having an affair when they were caught getting cozy on camera. A source close to the former coworkers claimed that, while they had a great working relationship and were close friends, their connection was never romantic.
The insider insisted it was inappropriate and unfair for Kristin to be called a “homewrecker” on social media, especially given the impact that the worldwide attention had on both the Byron and Cabot families.

Coldplay kept using the Jumbotron on its Music of the Spheres World Tour throughout the summer, with Martin eventually defending that potentially risky decision at the band’s Hull, England, concert on August 18, reported PageSix.
“We’ve been doing [the Jumbotron] a long time, and it is only recently that it became a … yeah,” Martin, 48, joked. “Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.”
