The family of a 46-year-old man who was viciously stabbed to death by a rowdy mob outside a Bronx afterhours club early Sunday morning wants the thugs brought to justice.
Leonardo Sanchez got into a beef with several others near East 183rd Street and Grand Concourse around 6:50 a.m., when as many as a half dozen in the group slashed him repeatedly, leaving him mortally wounded while they sped off in several vehicles, police and sources said.
“We are absolutely looking for justice,” the slain man’s niece, Islen Sanchez, 26, told The Post Monday. “We want the people that are responsible found and brought to justice. They stripped us of someone who played a vital role in our family, who was cherished, absolutely loved.
“And he was taken so suddenly, so unexpectedly,” she said. “We’re waiting for him to come home and then not to have him show. His mother is grieving her son. She never expected it could possibly happen.”
She said Leonardo, a Manhattan native, comes from a large family, with five siblings and two daughters.
Her uncle was left bloodied on the sidewalk, and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was later pronounced dead — even as his killers remain on the loose.
Sources said the attackers slashed him repeatedly on his arms and body.
Police have not released further details of what sparked the fatal dispute.
