Brooke Hogan is firing back at the criticism of grieving her late father, Hulk Hogan, after an admittedly complicated relationship.
“I can’t believe I have to make a post reminding human beings how to be human,” Brooke, 38, began a TikTok video shared Thursday, July 30. “I am receiving so much judgment over my — not yours — relationship with my father, not my brother’s relationship with my father, not my mother’s relationship with my father. They, you [and] everybody does not know exactly what I went through with that man.”
Brooke is the daughter of exes Linda Hogan and Hulk, who died in July 2025 at the age of 71. Prior to the wrestler’s death, he had been estranged from Brooke. (In addition to the singer, Linda, 66, and Hulk, shared son Nick, 36.)
“You can take a trip down memory lane on Google and see what him and I went through publicly,” Brooke stated on Thursday. “If you can imagine the damage it did privately, along with other things I’ve never spoken about, [then] I am allowed to be very hurt and very allowed to draw boundaries.”
At the same time, Brooke stated that she is still allowed to “mourn and miss” her father.
“I’ve cried every day since he died. The bags [under] my eyes, the tired [look on my face], this is grief,” she said. “I’m doing everything I can to hold it together as a human being, and you guys have the balls to judge. It’s not me digging my heels in, it’s not ego. OK, what we went though was something that might not ever be able to be explained, and something I could not go back into.”

Brooke continued, “I had a very real relationship with my dad. I spent 15 years with his second wife, Jennifer [McDaniel], at every surgery, flying down on my own dime while I was waiting tables. I love my dad, I miss him terribly. [We] had such a tight bond, what you saw on TV was the tip of the iceberg. Me and him were so tight [and] thick as thieves.”
According to Brooke, she ultimately “lost [Hulk] along the way.”
“I kept losing him and he kept losing himself, and that I can’t explain,” she alleged. “With anybody I’ve ever loved, I was the one that reached into the pit and said, ‘Let me help you.’ I was the fixer.”
By the end, Brooke acknowledged that she “couldn’t keep fixing” issues all on her own.
“I was married, found out I was having twins, had a nasty C-section,” the HGTV star added of her family with husband Steven Oleksy. “By the way, my husband asked my dad if he wanted to meet our kids. I don’t even know if my dad had his phone, let’s put it that way. Judge people by the fruit they bear. Not one person who criticized me as a life I wish I had, so I don’t care if I succeed slower [or] if my goodness shows later. I don’t have to put on a show.”
