Bride’s meltdown after California shop posts dress before wedding brutally trolled: ‘Girl, you’re fine’

She said yes to the dress — then found herself in a bridal battle royale.

Bride-to-be Shaina Franklin has racked up millions of views documenting a bitter battle with a California bridal shop that began over allegedly botched alterations, and exploded when the store posted her wedding gown online weeks before she walked down the aisle.

Now, the internet is furiously debating over who committed the bigger faux pas.

The saga began when the TikTok fitness influencer took to social media to complain about alterations on her wedding gown at San Diego bridal store, Bridal and Veil, claiming the work left her dream dress looking like a Frankenstein version of itself shortly before her big day.

In videos cautioning other brides by sharing her experience with the store, Franklin described her dress as being “wadded” around the ribs, having twisted buttons and a zipper that ran sideways. Ultimately, the store ended up ordering Franklin a new dress that she took elsewhere to get altered.

But rather than let Franklin have the last word, Bridal and Veil fired back.

In now-deleted videos, the bridal shop placed Franklin’s altered dress next to a sample version of the same dress, apparently attempting to show viewers the work that had been done. The store accused Franklin of going out of her way to damage their reputation after they went to great lengths to accommodate her. Adding insult to injury, the boutique displayed a piece of paper showing Franklin’s name tacked on next to it — effectively spoiling her big reveal down the aisle.

While some rallied behind the bride, Franklin’s video reacting to her wedding dress being publicly unveiled “for all of my guests, all of my friends and my husband to see” drew a brutal wave of mockery from critics.

“No one, I mean no one, I know follows bridal shops,” one user pointedly commented. “Girl, you’re fine.”

Others urged Franklin to get a much-needed reality check. “omg.. my husband is recovering from his 3rd brain surgery,” another wrote. “You’ll be fine.”

“I think brides believe that the guests truly care or remember what their dress looked like,” argued a third.

However, one commenter on Reddit who said they had also purchased their wedding dress from the same store recalled a stressful experience in which her gown was initially “lost” and later “found” three weeks before her wedding, except it was six sizes too big.

“I completely sympathize with her, because that was so stressful right before my wedding.”

Unsurprisingly, the internet has not reached a consensus.
