New monetary details regarding Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s surprise It Ends With Us legal settlement have been revealed.
A source tells Us Weekly that no money was exchanged between Lively, 38, and Baldoni, 42, in the Monday, May 4, settlement, which ended the contentious legal battle between the former costars while avoiding a trial. Each party did pay for their own legal fees.
Another source close to the matter, however, exclusively told Us, “Anyone purporting to confirm the terms of the confidential settlement at this point is misleading you. More information about this confidential settlement will be on the court’s docket in the coming days.”
Us has reached out to Lively and Baldoni’s teams for comment. (TMZ was first to report the financial details.)
As news of the settlement made headlines on Monday, Lively and Baldoni’s attorneys addressed the decision in a statement to Us.
“The end product – the movie It Ends With Us – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind,” the lawyers said, hours before the 2026 Met Gala was held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. “We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard.”
The statement continued, “We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”
Lively later appeared to be in good spirits when she attended fashion’s biggest night, channeling the “Costume Art” theme with an Atelier Versace gown pulled from the 2006 archives. This year’s event marked Lively’s first Met Gala appearance since 2022.
“It’s an honor to attend with Donatella [Versace], one that I don’t take lightly,” Lively told Vogue at the event. “I haven’t been since giving birth to my fourth child.”
Despite reports suggesting otherwise, a source exclusively confirmed to Us that the actress was invited to the star-studded event as a guest of Vogue and Condé Nast’s global chief content officer and artist director Anna Wintour. She did not attend with her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Fashion aside, Lively has found herself in the headlines for her legal drama with Baldoni ever since she sued her former costar, his publicity team and a series of other defendants in December 2024.
At the time, the actress alleged that she was retaliated against for coming forward with sexual harassment allegations against Baldoni.
Baldoni strongly denied the allegations throughout the legal battle and counter-sued Lively. In June 2025, however, a judge dismissed his lawsuit against the actress.
In April, Lively faced a legal setback of her own when a judge ruled that most of her legal claims against Baldoni, including allegations of defamation, harassment and conspiracy, would be dismissed.
Jury selection for the trial was expected to begin on Monday, May 18, before the surprise settlement was reached.
