Adrian Rocha thought he could count on Zach Cornell in the Big Brother house. Instead, the baseball player played a major role in his eviction.

“I was trying to create this loyalty that he knew that I would have his back a thousand percent,” Adrian, 23, exclusively told Us Weekly of his bond with Zach, 27, on Friday, August 1, following his eviction from the competition series. “I always give him information. I told him every single time someone’s name came up so that he knows that I was always good for his game.”

Adrian added that he told Zach that he was his “number one guy” and “didn’t care” if he had “other alliances” in the game.

“I just needed to know I was the number one guy and I would always be honest with him unless he lied to me, but I didn’t believe he would do that,” he continued. “And the fact that if he knew that, ‘Adrian is a loyal ally of mine and he’s a big target, he’s a competitor,’ and he would keep me safe. So that’s why I would trust Zach.”

The Thursday, July 31, episode showed Zach being one of eight to evict Adrian from the game. However, one thing the live show didn’t share with viewers was that Zach and Vince “Vinny” Panaro had a conversation with Ava Pearl about potential scenarios for the upcoming eviction on the live feeds. If Kelley Jorgensen won the BB Blockbuster competition, leaving Adrian and Cliffton “Will” Williams on the block, Zach and Vinny, 34, initially planned on voting to keep Adrian, making it a tie vote.

In the event of a tie, Head of Household (HOH) Lauren Domingue would break the tie, and she planned to send Will home over Adrian. However, Ava warned Zach and Vince that they would paint a target on their backs, so they switched their votes to send Adrian home.

Following his eviction, Zach learned of the change of plans. While Zach ultimately betrayed Adrian, the carpenter has no hard feelings.

“I’m not really upset at Zach. I wish if everyone had just voted to keep me, I would’ve had a shot [to] stay in. But I know that he was just saving his game,” Adrian told Us. “He knows he has a huge target on his back. He was just saving his game. I can’t blame him too hard.”

While Adrian is understanding, he teased that he’s going to give Zach a hard time when the game is over.

“Would I call him a chicken when he gets out? Probably. I’m gonna call him a big chicken,” he quipped. “I call him a chicken all the time when we play chess. I [made chicken noises] every time we played chess.”

Adrian added that he’s not angry with Zach but found it to be “upsetting” that he can’t “fight alongside” his allies, who included Kelley.

Big Brother airs on CBS on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can watch live feeds from the house anytime on Paramount+.
