She wore the pants. Now everyone wants them.
Hours after Dolly Parton’s heartbreaking death at the age of 80, fashion-minded fans began scooping up the jeans she created with Khloe Kardashian for her denim brand Good American.
First launched in April 2025, Dolly’s Joleans (like “Jolene” but with jeans… get it?) were meant to emulate the tight and curvy silhouettes favored by the country music icon, who famously sported crop tops and skin-tight pants right up until the end.
In April of 2026, Parton launched the line’s third collection — a mix of thigh-hugging bellbottoms, bedazzled straight-leg pants and lace-up denim corsets — to admiring reviews and steady, but not groundbreaking, sales.
But in the wake of Parton’s death, fans have ramped up their need to wear something — anything — connecting them to the Tennessee siren. And those relying on the jeans’ precise fit and cut are stocking up in case the line gets discontinued altogether.
“They’re not just another pair of jeans,” said Las Vegas-based stylist Christie Moeller, who raved about the line when it first came out and frequently recommends it to her clients, who have included Drew Barrymore. “They have that very Dolly combination of denim, glamour and a little bit of drama… Plus that yoke detail really makes your booty look good!”
“Having a piece connected to Dolly feels meaningful,” said Lea Bryant, a Nashville resident who runs a local social club for women and calls Dolly “an inspiration.” Bryant added that the jeans have an amazing fit for real bodies. “I’d love to continue supporting that legacy.”
There’s just one problem:
In the hours after Dolly Parton’s passing, her denim line has all but disappeared. On Good American’s website, petite straight-leg jeans were available in every size… until suddenly, they weren’t.
Ditto a pair of Dolly’s high-rise flare pants, which were originally up for grabs in 10 sizes, from teeny tiny to plus size. Now, just four sizes remain at Macy’s — and all are running low, according to the iconic Herald Square retailer.
Searches for Dolly’s jeans surged nearly 5000% on Google just three hours after her death from cancer was reported on August 25. Meanwhile, the shopping platform Lyst reports a spike in general “Americana” fashion like Parton’s denim button-up shirt, which has also vanished from stockrooms.
“I really hope the line continues,” said Lindsay Lind, a TikTok content creator who “loves” her high-waisted Jojeans.
The Post has yet to hear back from Good American about whether the Dolly Parton Joleans collaboration will keep going after the death of its legendary “dreamer in chief.” If so, they’ll have a lot of customers — even resale sites like TheRealReal are clean out of Joleans, and eBay has a scant six listings.
