Below Deck star Nathan Gallagher has broken his silence after being arrested for domestic violence.

“I’m not claiming I was perfect. I wasn’t,” Gallagher, 27, told Rolling Stone in a statement on Wednesday, August 26. “I made mistakes and I will take responsibility for my own actions.”

Gallagher claimed to have “evidence” that would tell a different side of the story.

“I will not accept being portrayed solely through one person’s account of a relationship when there is another side and evidence relating to it,” he continued. “I have contemporaneous video footage from the night in question, as well as messages and other records, which I believe provide important context.”

Confirming his split from castmate Gael Cameron, Gallagher said, “There are also other matters surrounding the relationship that I have never discussed publicly, including circumstances surrounding the breakdown of our relationship, previous allegations she made about a former partner and financial matters relating to the purchase of an apartment in Sydney.”

He continued, “I have kept the evidence and will deal with it through the appropriate channels. But I also don’t believe it is fair for one version of events to be presented publicly as though it is the complete story when there is evidence that may materially contradict or provide significant context to that account.”

Gallagher claimed that he doesn’t “believe the public has heard the full story surrounding what happened.”

“What has been publicly reported represents only one side of what was an extremely complicated situation,” he said.

Gallagher explained that his and Cameron’s “priority” has been coparenting their 14-month-old son, Kayden.

“My priority is being recognized as his father, establishing a relationship with him and ultimately finding a way for both of us to move forward and coparent peacefully,” he concluded. “I’m not looking for revenge, and not asking anyone to take my side. I simply want the opportunity for the other side to be heard and for the evidence to be considered.”

Us confirmed on August 19 that Gallagher was arrested for domestic violence in Australia in December 2025. He was charged with “assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally chok[ing] a person without consent and common assault,” according to police in New South Wales.

Per the police statement, Gallagher was involved in an alleged incident that took place after Christmas. He was charged after allegedly assaulting an unidentified 29-year-woman at an apartment building in the Sydney area.

There were no reports of any injuries sustained by either party. The police eventually granted Gallagher conditional bail. It’s not clear how he pleaded.

Cameron, who began dating Gallagher in 2024, has an Apprehended Violence Application filed against her now-ex, according to court docs viewed by Us. An AV is meant to protect a person from someone who makes them fear violence, intimidation, harassment or stalking, according to the NSW Government’s website.

A hearing for the criminal charges and the AV request is scheduled for September 1.
