It’s a deal in a box.
Aldi will release free limited-edition “Blind Boxes” next week, to the delight of diehard customers.
Cashing in on the appeal of mystery boxes, the German grocery chain, beloved for its bargains and high-quality private-label products, announced Monday that it will give away free “Aldi Blind Boxes” for four days beginning June 22.
Aldi shared in a news release that each box will be packed with “fresh picks from across every aisle,” along with fan-favorite products, and will be delivered to your doorstep.
“Designed to shake up your grocery routine and uncover new favorites,” each bundle’s contents will reflect one of four food themes: Snack, Fiber, Protein, and Mystery.
The Snack Blind Box is a menagerie of sweet, savory, and crunchy flavors featuring premium cheeses, dips, and sweet treats, “made for mixing, matching, and snacking whenever the craving hits,” according to the website.
The Fiber Box “AKA the feel-your-best box,” is filled with gut-friendly staples to support digestion and a healthy routine.
The Protein Blind Box is packed with high-protein picks “to keep you fueled without the fuss.”
Finally, the Mystery Blind Box is “a surprise mix of ALDI fan favorites and standout picks from across the store, packed with plenty to obsess over.”
Customers can visit AldiBlindBox.com each day at noon to claim their themed box.
The boxes are available while supplies last and will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
“The ALDI Blind Box taps into the excitement our fans already feel walking our aisles,” Bridget Kozlowski, director of communications for Aldi, said in a news release.
“Our shoppers come to ALDI for value, but they also come for discovery. From viral ALDI Finds to tried-and-true products shoppers love to tell their friends about, people love the thrill of discovering something new here.”
According to Aldi, more than 100 boxes will be given away in each drop.
Curious fans are advised to check Aldi’s Instagram page to see which theme is dropping each day.
“With surprise unboxings more popular than ever, this is our way of helping customers discover even more favorites,” Kozlowski added.
Aldi has a history of delivering freebies to fans.
Last year, Aldi announced it was rewarding 25 super customers with free groceries for a year.
The Blind Boxes are reaching customers on the heels, or cart wheels, of Aldi’s plans to reinvent its retail experience.
The brand revealed this spring that it has joined forces with Australian design firm Landini Associates, a collaboration 14 years in the making.
Together, they aim to transform the ALDI experience into a “singular, globally unified trading format” that is “modularly adaptable for different store formats and building types across the diverse territories in which the brand operates.”
This means a more streamlined store layout with standardized shelving, clearer signage, and a cleaner overall flow.
The idea, according to Landini Associaties, is to “reinvent” the language of discount shopping, while maintaining the integrity and simplicity of the in-store experience.
The brand is also committed to enhancing the digital shopping experience through a curated, redesigned website that makes shopping seamless for its US customers, according to the retail giant.
