Four brazen thieves snatched more than a dozen luxury handbags during a daylight smash-and-grab at a high-end shopping outlet in New York and then fled the state.
The robbers — three men and one woman, who police believe is linked to similar thefts — busted into the Gucci store at the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets on April 16 and made off with $30,000 worth of luxury handbags.
The quad stormed into the store and immediately began shattering display cases near the entrance. They grabbed as many bags as they could carry and handily removed the cable sensors while fleeing the scene, Northjersey.com reported.
The stunned store attendants watched on, with one lobbing curses in apparent outrage as the thieves ran away.
“F—k those people!” one woman jeered, according to a video obtained by The Post.
A customer tried to intervene as the bags tumbled out of the display case. She managed to grab the strap of a white handbag, but was tugged away by the concerned attendants while the thieves lunged for the goods scattered across the floor, according to another video obtained by News 12.
The suspects fled in a rented white Jeep that they wound up ditching after evading police during a brief pursuit in Newark, New Jersey, Northjersey.com reported.
The cops had to abandon the chase for the safety of other drivers as traffic piled up. The high-end thieves, meanwhile, drove recklessly and even vaulted onto the sidewalk at certain points while outpacing police, News 12 reported.
All four suspects are still at large. Police in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania are all on the lookout.
The lone woman involved has several outstanding warrants out for her arrest linked to almost a dozen robberies across the tristate area, the outlet reported. None of the suspects has been publicly identified.
