A newborn is missing nearly 24 hours after an inferno tore through a Queens home, killing one person and leaving seven others injured — including one man whose “skin was melting off his face and the body.”

The 17-day-old baby girl was one of nine victims who were caught in a home on Dongan Avenue between Poyer Street and Broadway in Elmhurst when the raging fire erupted at 6:45 p.m. Monday, according to sources.

Heartbreaking photographs show the gutted four-story building, with most of its floors reduced to burnt rubble.

The fire was so intense that it engulfed a portion of its neighboring homes — leaving Lucy Thinzar, 27, with little more than the clothes on her back.

“I’m lucky I’m alive. I need to reset, again, my life. I came with one piece of luggage in my hand three years ago from Myanmar and now I have one piece of luggage,” she told The Post Tuesday.

Thinzar arrived home from work to witness the blaze consuming the buildings and FDNY members helping an extremely injured young man, also from Myanmar, out of the fire.

“He looked bad. The skin was melting off his face and the body,” Thinzar recalled as she touched her cheeks with both hands.

“The clothes was on his body but we could see his skin … It is going to [stay] in my mind.”

The 22-year-old man suffered burns to 99% of his body, according to fire officials.

He was rushed to Harlem Hospital and is in severe, life-threatening condition, officials said.

Another resident, a 34-year-old woman, was found dead at the scene, according to the NYPD.

Six others, including a 10-year-old girl, were treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation but are expected to survive.

Four firefighters also suffered minor injuries battling the blaze, including one who fell through the deteriorating floor to waist level and was pulled to safety.

The fire was contained around 1 a.m. Tuesday, but officials worked through the night and the following day to secure the crumbling home and comb through the debris.

The infant girl had not been found as of Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

“I’ve never seen anything like this in my whole life, never, never — you see all those flames and the heat coming right in front of you,” said a 79-year-old neighbor whose building abutted the destroyed home.

The woman recalled first seeing heavy black smoke emitting from the house before it erupted in flames that quickly engulfed the building.

“The flame was so intense, my window [pane] got hot, it even cracked from the heat,” she said of her St. James Place home.

She noted that the alleys surrounding the home were “full of junk,” but fire officials have not yet said what caused or accelerated the massive blaze.

The FDNY said the fire broke out on the first floor.
