Netflix‘s most popular movies this week include a pair of films that are celebrating their respective anniversaries by finding a bigger audience in the streaming era than they ever had in theaters.

It’s a familiar pattern for Netflix, as films that were underappreciated or outright bombs get some cinematic redemption simply from getting viewers to watch them.

The Watch With Us team selected both of those anniversary films to be a part of this week’s picks for the three popular Netflix movies that you need to watch now.

Our final selection for the week is a very short documentary about one of the most outrageous and wild politicians in the last 20 years of North American history. And given the competition, that’s saying a lot.

‘The Last Witch Hunter’ (2015)

The Last Witch Hunter (2015) Official Trailer – "Live Forever" - Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel plays the title character, Kaulder, in The Last Witch Hunter. He’s a man who was cursed with immortality the day he killed the Witch Queen (Julie Engelbrecht) eight centuries ago. Kaulder’s life is miserable because he’ll never get to reunite with his wife and child in the afterlife. All he can do now is maintain a fragile truce between humanity and witches.

When one of Kaulder’s friends, Dolan (Michael Caine), is seemingly murdered by a powerful witch, Kaulder turns to Dolan’s successor (Elijah Wood) and a sympathetic witch, Chloe (Rose Leslie), to get some answers. The truth behind these events is linked to the day Kaulder became immortal, as his ancient war against evil witches threatens to erupt again in the present.

The Last Witch Hunter is streaming on Netflix.

‘Copycat’ (1995)

Sigourney Weaver‘s Dr. Helen Hudson is an expert on serial killers in Copycat, and she tries not to take her work home with her. That doesn’t stop a killer, Daryll Lee Cullum (Harry Connick Jr.), from nearly murdering Helen after one of her college lectures. The ordeal leaves Helen so shaken that she retreats to her apartment with the intent of never resuming her normal life.

Inspector Mary Jane “M.J.” Monahan (Holly Hunter) takes it upon herself to convince Helen to end her self-imposed exile when another serial killer emerges. The offer proves to be tempting for Helen, but she may come to regret it when she and M.J. are forced to turn to Cullum for help.

Copycat is streaming on Netflix.

‘Trainwreck: Mayor of Mayhem’ (2025)

Even people in the United States have heard of former Toronto mayor Rob Ford. It’s kind of hard to forget a sitting mayor in one of North America’s largest cities getting caught on video while smoking crack. As unbelievable as it sounds, that scandal isn’t the one that sank Ford, nor did it convince his supporters to turn their backs on him.

Trainwreck: Mayor of Mayhem is the Cliff Notes version of Ford’s years in power, which were marked by episodes of public intoxication, obvious signs of drug addiction and a propensity to say the most politically incorrect or sexist things that ever came across his mind. He may even remind you of certain politicians who are currently in office.

Trainwreck: Mayor of Mayhem is streaming on Netflix.
